Hedonistic, sensual, duplicitous – smooth and seductive initially, becoming intoxicating, then painful in withdrawal. As Lord Henry told Dorian, “the only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing”.
And at this point in the night, as we stumble home, perhaps it is time to mix Oscar Wilde metaphors “we’re all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars”.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Tomahawk Bar. Pours black and thick, a bit sharp up front but mellows as the malt kicks in. It grew on me with each sip. Not too bad.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with a tan head. Good body to head, nice lacing.
Nose was roast, wood, subtle spices ( thought on cedar), chocolate, coffee and vanilla.
Taste reflects the nose well. More spice from the wood though. Sort of peppery in a way.
Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Long, long finish. Solid beer
