wunderbier (1266), Tampere, Finland Mar 2, 2008 Copper hue with a sparse and foamy white head. Strong aroma of cookies and toffee, slightly herbal, a little buttery with some bread dough in the background. Clean pure malt, biscuity sweetness straight through to a herbaceous finish. Medium bodied with a velvet texture and brushing carbonation. Straightforward and crisp with the kind of yeast contributions I find enjoyable in a lighter lager.
33cl bottle, no date.
SaintMatty (485), Tallinn, Estonia Jul 1, 2008 330ml Bottle - Copper brown in colour with a foamy head. The aroma is quite fruity and sweet with raisins and toffee as welll as some slightly metallic notes. Fruity and slightly bitter taste initially although this quickly fades. Raisins feature in the taste along with a biscuity element. Not too bad. Miksu (1253), Jyväskylä, Finland Apr 25, 2008 0.33 l bottle. Amber color with small vanishing head. Sweetish aroma with caramel, toffee, raisins and sulphur.
Caramel, toffee and raisins dominate also the flavor. The bitterness is low and there is a hint of herbal hops in the finish. A bit watery palate. austone (334), Turku; Pori, Finland Apr 21, 2008 Bottled, bbe 4/2008. Clear copper, small disappearing off-white head. Slightly sweet caramel malty aroma, little honey and raisins. Pretty much the same goes for flavor, sweet caramel malts, raisins and little hops in the finish. Like a lighter cousin of Paulaner Salvator. Medium bodied, smooth palate. Simple, but surprisingly good. FatPhil (2102), Espoo, Finland Jan 10, 2008 Keg (Vanha Posti, Tampere)
Cloudy orange, healthy light keggy head. Pungent hoppy aroma - slightly eggy and sulphurous, but plenty of raw hops dominate. Lively carbonation in the mouth. Smooth malty body, a bit creamy, pleasant slightly raw hops. Decent hoppy finish. Well balanced and flavoursome.
