wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Rovaniemi over summer, Finland Apr 13, 2008 50cl can, bbe 05/06/2008. Dark brown hue with red highlights. Fizzy, tan head is short lived. Sweetish aroma of toffee and buttered rye toast with honey. Slightly peppery, cola-like edge. Nutty, round and sweet flavour with a hint of toasted marshmallows. A bit brushy, woollen with the hops...peppery even. Medium-light bodied, velvety textured, fizzy carbonation. Left me wanting the flavour and aroma to be bigger or more nuanced.
fishingnet (700), Brandon, Florida, USA Jun 23, 2008 Can courtesy CigarCityBrew. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, light caramel, ad a hint of nuts. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Good. gunhaver (519), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 Can, courtesy CigarCityBrew. Pours a dark tea color copper, fizzy white head, with lots of lacing. Biscuity malt nose, cereal, chocolate, some wheat. Heavy malt flavors, caramel malts, some soft chocolate. Smooth, very drinkable, crisp and refreshing. Despite the rating I enjoyed this a lot. Mes_and_Sim (3903), London, Greater London, England Jun 3, 2008 A Mes rate: Can at the Oi Oi Saveloy tasting at Chris O’s. Murky mid brown colour. Sweet and malty. More dark lager than dunkel really. Whatever it’s not great. Thin and lifeless. chris_o (4395), London, Greater London, England Jun 1, 2008 500 ml can at London tasting, May 2007 (courtesy oh6gdx). BBE 5 June 2008. Murky brown colour. Sweet malt throughout and not a lot else. No significant hop presence. Rather thin mouthfeel. Didn’t make much an impression.
hughie (2020), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England May 31, 2008 At May Ratebeer London Gathering at Chris O’s. Muddy red brown. Vegetal aroma gradually developing into sour maltiness. Taste is malty with some sourness and a little metallic prickle of bitterness at the end.
