3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Avenue Pub post-Mardi Gras. Pours amber (duh). More malty than hoppy but fairly balanced overall. Nothing really standing out, but it’s a fine job and serves its purpose.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
One of many local choices I ordered this to see what the local flavor is. After sampling a couple my suspicions were confirmed. Unless there’s something I overlooked Abita is the best option for a state tick. Otherwise drink it for the atmosphere of being down south.
Aroma / Appearance - Ruby red with a glowing base the body is as warm as the humid air outside. Roses, cherries, and malt mix in the way that isn’t flawed but doesn’t have a punch. It is as lazy and listless as the warm summer afternoon during the peak of the day.
Flavor / Palate - Thin cherry Twizzlers tickle the palate before the transition becomes pie crust and malt. A bit timid and plain this is one of those beers that you forget as soon as you order the next pint. I don’t think I’ll be clamoring to try many more NOLA releases the next time I am in the neighborhood.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Avenue Pub. Pours a very dark amber red body with a nice one finger frothy off-white head that left some nice lacing. Much darker than the average ’red ale’. The nose is nicely hoppy with a citrusy kick and a fairly hefty toasted maltiness. The flavor is pretty bold compared to what I was expecting. Nice toasty and slightly husky (ok in this style for me) malt with moderate citrusy hops and a lengthy caramel and toasted malt finish. Medium bodied with a slight resiny stickiness on tbe finish and fizzy carbonation. Pretty good, exceeded my expectations.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Fantastic hop aroma and excellent color for an american amber. I would prefer the flavor to be a tad more malt forward as I prefer non-west-coast-amber-ales, but this is a great beer either way.
Body is medium and overall experience is marvelously drinkable. NOLA FTW!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ Avenue Pub: Pours a caramel red color with a nice white head. The nose is fresh and toasty with a light caramel and bread notes. A nice light underscore of fresh piney hops and a balanced finish. Nice red ale.
