This beer is the culmination of over 30 years of brewing by our Brewmaster, Peter ‘Hopzilla’ Caddoo. Created at our Tchoupitoulas Street brewery, our India Pale Ale was hand crafted with six malts and six hops. This big, beautiful beer is dry hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe hops to accentuate aromas of citrus and pine. Grab a Hopitoulas and taste the passion and dedication that has gone into this brew.

We had this beer at the 2013 Tops of the Hops in Biloxi, MS. It was not for me. Too bug spray-ish.

16oz can via UD in trade. Big golden body with similar growing oily head. A lucious nose of hops and malts that does not seem to fade. Spectacularly balanced. Hops and malts appear continuously and show their stuff like runway models from VS. Its like a small parade of separate hops and malts in my mouth. Yum...

Bottle: The aroma consists of mango, caramel, toffee, and stale citrus hops. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small soapy white film for a head. The flavor starts with mango, orange, and caramel. The finish has oxidation and stale grapefruit hops. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation.

can via Ldhughes3. Pours golden amber with foamy cream colored head. Head has great retention and leaves a curious coating of lacing. Nose of yeast, malt, and pine. Taste startes with a solid grapefruit and pine punch washed over buy malt and light caramel. Ample bitterness, though it leaves me yearning for more. Alchohol dances at the finishes. Body is a tad thin.

Picked this one up during the AHA conference in New Orleans on a whim. Surprisingly good! Deep orange color, crisp and bright with a somewhat light mouthfeel, lots of pine and resin with a citrus sweetness. Pretty aggressive.

Can. Pours a nice orange/copper with a thin head and aromas of silo dust and a little citrus. Flavor is grainy with a caramel sweetness and a little hops punch at the end. The hops are muted and directionless in this can. Maybe a little bit of oranges and grass.

Amber with a thin head and some lacing. Hoppy, floral nose. Malty intro and mouthfeel that transitions easily to a mildly hoppy, sweet finish.

Tap. Poured a bright amber with a medium white, foamy head. Very smooth on the tongue - less sharp than Saint Arnold’s Endevour. Great taste from an excellent hop profile. Smoothness continued to the finish with less of a bitter back end than other IPA’s.

Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a clear gold body supporting a light tan head of foam. The mild aroma offers up a sweet mix of orange citrus like hops and earthiness and then a little grassiness near the end of the draw. This taste is smooth tasting and seems hop flavor forward that starts a little sweet with malts mixing with orange and grapefruit hoppiness creating an orange juice sensation. Midway and into the finish the thin layer of sweet malts recedes leaving a modest degree of grapefruit like citrus bitterness that heads into the finish. After another sample this ends pleasingly bitter and forces your hand making you try a third sample. Nice IPA.
