COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is the culmination of over 30 years of brewing by our Brewmaster, Peter ĎHopzillaí Caddoo. Created at our Tchoupitoulas Street brewery, our India Pale Ale was hand crafted with six malts and six hops. This big, beautiful beer is dry hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe hops to accentuate aromas of citrus and pine. Grab a Hopitoulas and taste the passion and dedication that has gone into this brew.

From a growler filled at the Avenue Pub. The beer pours an orange-amber color with a large white head. The aroma has a nice amount of bread and toffee, with some strong pine notes added in. The flavor is more hoppy than the aroma. I get quite a bit of pine and orange citrus, with some grass also thrown in. The bready malt keeps the bitterness fairly low and allows the hop flavor to shine. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Draft @ Mias Restaurant. Amber color. Nice lace. Aroma of floral hops, caramel malts. Nice biscuit. Tastes of sweet toasted grains, bitter hops. More of a bitter version of English style IPA. (3337)

Handbottled (thanks K.B.!). HAzy goldeny orange colour with a mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is citrus fruits, grass, some spruce as well as mild honey and some sweet caramel maltyness. Flavour is rather fruity and floral hoppyness along with some crisp and sweet maltyness. Very nice balance for an IPA. Highly drinkable and refreshing.

On draught at Grande Isle Restaurant.great Happy Hour price, unfortunately serious off-flavor. Pours a very densr dark gold color with solid white head. Hop over malt flavor balance but distracting sour tinge. Unclean lines? Could be a nice hoppy beer but canít tell due to off flavors.

Tap. Slice. Pours a clear dark copper with a one finger foamy off white head that left some nice lacing. The nose is light to moderate citrusy hops with a fairly heavy caramel malt undertone. The hops are moderately bitter with a fairly heavy caramel malt sweetness that dulls out the hops a bit. Lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. A little too heavy on the malt presence for my tastes. I had a dry hopped version at a festival yesterday that was on cask and it was much better.

Abslolutley fabulous. Perfect CO2. Fair aroma. Hop flavor citrus, grapefruit, and wondefull peppery overtones. Great clear brew and good clean hoppy finish.

Pint in a plastic cup at Beer Fest. This is a decent IPA. Itís clean and bitter but with no real standout hop quality. The aroma is coppery and earthy with grassiness. This tastes almost like an English IPA with its assertive malt flavor and earthy, wooden flavor. The finish is quick. This is clean, but needs more hops. It could be conceived that the keg has a little age on it, but didnít taste outright old. Iíll pick up a sixer if I ever see it again and give it another go.

Tap. Pours clear orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is pear and apple esters, straw and biscuit malt with pine and resin hops. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, fruity esters and a malt backbone with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a clear gold body supporting a light tan head of foam. The mild aroma offers up a sweet mix of orange citrus like hops and earthiness and then a little grassiness near the end of the draw. This taste is smooth tasting and seems hop flavor forward that starts a little sweet with malts mixing with orange and grapefruit hoppiness creating an orange juice sensation. Midway and into the finish the thin layer of sweet malts recedes leaving a modest degree of grapefruit like citrus bitterness that heads into the finish. After another sample this ends pleasingly bitter and forces your hand making you try a third sample. Nice IPA.
