This beer is the culmination of over 30 years of brewing by our Brewmaster, Peter ‘Hopzilla’ Caddoo. Created at our Tchoupitoulas Street brewery, our India Pale Ale was hand crafted with six malts and six hops. This big, beautiful beer is dry hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe hops to accentuate aromas of citrus and pine. Grab a Hopitoulas and taste the passion and dedication that has gone into this brew.

On draught at Grande Isle Restaurant.great Happy Hour price, unfortunately serious off-flavor. Pours a very densr dark gold color with solid white head. Hop over malt flavor balance but distracting sour tinge. Unclean lines? Could be a nice hoppy beer but can’t tell due to off flavors.

From a growler filled at the Avenue Pub. The beer pours an orange-amber color with a large white head. The aroma has a nice amount of bread and toffee, with some strong pine notes added in. The flavor is more hoppy than the aroma. I get quite a bit of pine and orange citrus, with some grass also thrown in. The bready malt keeps the bitterness fairly low and allows the hop flavor to shine. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Tap. Slice. Pours a clear dark copper with a one finger foamy off white head that left some nice lacing. The nose is light to moderate citrusy hops with a fairly heavy caramel malt undertone. The hops are moderately bitter with a fairly heavy caramel malt sweetness that dulls out the hops a bit. Lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. A little too heavy on the malt presence for my tastes. I had a dry hopped version at a festival yesterday that was on cask and it was much better.

Draft. Pours copper/amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor was hoppy -- resin, citrus, a bit of earthiness -- and reasonably malty. Finishes dry. Mouthfeel pulled off the odd combo of both slightly oily and chewy. Pretty satisfying.

draft. amber caramel, clear, small head. sticky pine sap / resin-heavy nose with requisite pineapple fruit and lemon citrus hops. medium-full body, syrupy and a bit goppy, and just a tad too flabby and chewy as well. strong bitterness but medium-low acid, that’s a problem. caramel-heavy orange-oil floor wax hop finish.

Draft. Amber and hazy. Earthy, slightly caramelly nose. Earthy hops, moderate bitterness and good balance. Was a go-to beer for me on my visit to NOLA.

Draft. Nola. Copper amber brew. Delicate lace. Spicy hop aroma. Peach and nectarine undertone harmonious accents. Light to medium body and easy to drink. Nice chicory bitter finish from the toasty malts. Certain citrus. Nice hoppy number and easily one of the top local beers!

Growler thanks to Mora2000. Pours with a hazed orange hued body and a thick, bone hued white head that lasts. Some small particles floating around. Aromas of citrus, pine, light tropical fruit, a hint of alcohol and a clean, bready 2 row. A bit of tangerine. Flavors are citrusy, tangerine, pomelo. A bit husky/nutty on the grain side of things. Some grassy hop presence. Medium carbonation, dry and a bit thin.

Solid IPA for a local brewery. Taste is very good, but I would prefer more hop variety. Tastes like a lot of pale ales but with more alcohol presence. Maybe some more interesting malt character would put it over the top. I enjoy this beer frequently.
