Irish Channel Stout is our newest seasonal ale. Released in November, this is an American style stout that has sweet malt flavors of caramel and chocolate, complimented by a crisp bitterness produced by roasted barley and American Hops. The complex malt bill of pale and roasted malts result in this well balanced stout that is smooth, rich, dark and delicious! And watch out – ABV 6.8%! This seasonal will be available on draft through March.

Can courtesy of jcartamdg. Cheers, Jason! Pours a dark stout brown with a light tan head. Nose is roasted coffee, roast, some ash, and mild bitterness. Flavor is baker’s chocolate, roasted coffee, ash, and some slight caramel. Light to medium in body and a nice stout overall.

Poured from 1 pint can. Aroma is nice roasted coffee, chocolate and rich malts. Unfortunately, a distinct metallic smell and taste was present. It's a good solid stout with a medium body. I like the layers of toasted malts, roasted coffee and chicory. The chocolate notes are present and balanced through the long lasting finish.

Draft on tap at the brewery (New Orleans, LA). Pours a deep blackish brown hue, a darker body, some ruby brown glow with frothy tannish head atop with decent stick around and lacing. Mellow ringer does some damage. Aromas are cocoa and chocolate syrup, caramel and decent roast. Some toastiness, caramel, earth and more sweeter chocolate. Initial is a bit thinner with distinct chocolate syrup element. Some oatmeal, roast and coffee give some hits. Baked and roasty oats, caramel and toffee. A bit of creaminess as we hit the middle, dry and thinner with that distinct chocolate syrup type feel that sets the pace. A bit creamy, some sweetness, toast and carmelization. A bit sweet, gentle bitterness as we taper out. Some more cocoa, some dryness, earth. Sweeter slant overall, the chocolate syrup feel really does the leading here. Not necessarily for me, a bit sweet but my wife really dug it. Potent nose, good look.

Can from trade as an extra. Forget who. Thanks! Pours dark brown to black with a big mocha colored creamy head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, smoke, bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is metallic up front big time, followed by roasted malt, bitter cocoa powder, maybe a hint of coffee or espresso. A long finish with some pleasant roast lingering with chocolate on the palate. Light to medium bodied for a stout, high carbonation. The big metallic flavor to start this one off really takes away from it, as it is an otherwise very solid dry stout with lots of flavor going on.

On tap at the Brewery -- Nice super creamy stout. Light enough that the 6.8%abv was surprising, also let the subtle roast and chocolate come through.

Black pour. Small tan head. Little bit of lacing. Aroma of molasses and brown sugar. Taste is the same. Tastes almost artificial.
