Pretty solid offering. Large draught sample of darkness with a lighter caramel head. Nose is sweet roasted malts, nicely balanced. More chocolate than coffee but a little bitter and a little sweet. Flavor follows with a quite smooth finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black pour. The aroma is quite roasty. Lots of rich bitter
chocolate and a big middle maltiness. There is a lot of coffee on the
back of the palate. There is a great bit of earthy hoppiness with a
touch of rich bitterness on the back of the palate. There is a fairly
nice flavour. Good balance. Pretty tasty.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Immediate tastes of espresso on the tongue followed by caramel, malts, and subtle bitter chocolate on the finish. I didn't get much from nosing this beer, which gave my tastebuds quite a surprise when I took my first flavor filled sip. This is really a nice stout to sit and savor. The flavors really begin to open up as the beer warms a little in the glass. Even poured from a can, this stout held a nice dark foamy head for quite some time. Definitely a beer that I will come back to again. NOLA has yet to disappoint me.

Pours like motor oil. Nice thick caramel head that stays. Aroma is of coffee, espresso, smoke, chocolate, pine, caramel, honey, and sweet chocolate. Tastes of milk chocolate, espresso, pine trees, coffee, caramel, roasted malt. Mouth feel on this is very good. It is silky smooth and the way the flavor comes across the tongue is amazing. Highly recommend this beer.

16oz can poured to pint glass. Rich black opaque color with one finger thick tan head that dissipates quickly, nice moderate lacing. Earthy dark chocolate aroma. Mocha and dark chocolate flavors throughout with very little bittering from hops or black patent malt. Cheers!
