Thanks to jjfoodie for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is very similar. The predominant flavor is cocoa powder, with some medium roasted malts also thrown in. Even with all of the malt, the beer is very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This was a so-so stout. Compared to Guinness, which is available almost everywhere as an import it is on equal footing. Compared to the bottles you can buy and the choices at the better bars thereís no reason to pick this over some other breweries.
Aroma / Appearance - Fluid black like a flat glass of Pepsi the beer doesnít look all that inspiring. Coffee, smoke, and chocolate are the main aspects of a nose which is on the thin side.
Flavor / Palate - Smoke, coffee, and malt tease the palate with the potential for more. Black licorice and cigarette smoke follow through into a dry finish. Overall this isnít terrible and is better than a bunch of macros. However it is still drab compared to the other choices available even locally (like Lazy Magnolia and Abita).

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap. Avenue Pub. Pour an opaque black body with a nice one finger foamy brown head that faded to a thin film. The nose is nice heavy black patent malt with just a little coffee and hoppiness. The flavor is pretty solid as well, roasty black patent malt without being overly bitter or acrid, some dark roast coffee and bright hops on the finish. Light bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation, not on nitro like the usual dry stout. The
More I have the more the hoppiness emerges as well. This is pretty darn nice. Best NOLA beer Iíve had thus far.
