In short: A nourishing black-cake-beer with smooth well integrated whiskey barrels. Excellent.
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed fresh soon after I got the bottle from Teddybeer, thanks a lot José.
The look: Black body topped by a persistent tan head.
In long: Nose is big mean blackened malts with a moderate barrels presence, no alcohol fumes, inviting aroma. Body is very full, a very creamy texture, fluffy carbonation, a very pleasant mouthfeel. Taste is rich cake malts, medium roasted, cocoa powder, some vanilla, mild well-integrated whiskey barrels. Nothing original in the flavor elements, pretty basic array of flavors for the style, but everything works well, the whiskey barrels are well integrated, the alcohol is exceptionally well hidden, the drinkability is surprisingly high. Right before this beer I drank a bottle of De Molen Hel & Verdoemenis Wild Turkey Barrel (same style, similar size, similar barrel treatment) and I found the Nómada Moose Islay so much more classy and drinkable than the brutal top rated De Molen. I find that this beer is meritorious, dainty and ambrosial and I also find that my attempt to use big words to sound intelligent in a beer rating is absolutely doleful.

Bottle from More than Beer. Black coloured with a brown head. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, oak, touch of vanilla, a bit boozy, whiskey, light salty. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, more pronounced whiskey flavours, bit of liquorice, salty. Finish is fairly bitter and dry. Good stuff.

Totally black color, like petroleum, with a brown but not very long head. Very intense aromas. Liquorized, like Porto wines and whisky; coffee, chocolate and vanilla; wood. Also a dry fruits note is perceived. Very complex and interesting aroma due to the contact with whisky barrels. Slightly bitter taste despite the IBUS because of the sweetness of alcohol and malts. Regarding alcohol, it is incredible this beer to be a 13% alc. beer. In mout again complex aromas dominated by roasty nuances (chocolate). Medium-high body and medium carbonation. Long and oily finish but also a fizzy sensation is present. Very intense and interesting stout.

Une bouteille partagée. Bière brune foncée presque noire avec une mousse brune. Un nez d’iode, de caramel et chocolat. Une bouche huileuse avec une belle amertume. Un alcool piquant. Des saveurs riches de chocolat fumé.

330ml bottle from Rosses i Torrades, Barcelona

Pours pitch black with a small bubbly brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, tar, burnt wood, smoke and ash. Taste is heavy, roasty and stingy with whisky notes, burnt wood, smoke and ash. Finish is warming, heavy and stuffy with some stingy whisky and woody notes. A bit unbalanced and stuffy.
