Bottle (330 ml). From kbudd19, thanks!

Appearance: Pitch black with a medium beige head that doesn’t stay too long and little lacing.

Aroma: Dominated by peated whiskey and smoke but there’s also oak, vanilla, caramel and light cocoa notes.

Taste: Peated whiskey, smoke, caramel, light vanilla, oak, cocoa notes and light hazelnut presence.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Peaty finish, but not overpowering or too sticky.

Overall: Extremely well balanced for a Lagavulin barrel-aged RIS. Tasty and enjoyable. Not hard too drink considering the 12% abv. Really good!

Pours black with a small, off white head. Nice lacing left. Nose is quite one dimensional - big raisin and banana, milk choc and brown sugar. Kind of like a banana milkshake with a kick.

Bottle at the Hoppy Pub. Pours black with a thin beige head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, wood and some light hints of whiskey. Taste is really good with coffee and some smoked in the start, chocolate, wood and roasted malts in the end. Whiskey makes it’s presence when the beer is getting warmer. Liquorice with soft carbonation good body and a great dry and bittersweet aftertaste . Loved this gem !!!

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2015 At the 1st tasting of 2015 in Belgrade-Serbia. Pours black with a tan head. Nose: tart feel of dry meat, smoked ham. Mouth: mirrors the nose. BBQ meat, cheese. Very different imperial stout from a Spanish micro brewery which has been doing really good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Black beer, almost no head. Did not age for five years, I’m not going to wait that long. Aroma of smooth whiskey and malt. Taste of salty dry licorice, coffee, some anise and boozy red fruit of the lagavulin. Note of cherry, bit port like. Malty and whiskey finish. The Spanish are doing quite well lately.

Bottle shared with Richthevillan, cheers rich. Black beer with small tan head. Aroma of. Moderate peaty whisky, roasted malts and a little licorice. Taste is roasted malts, licorice and moderate peaty whisky. I love lagavulin 16 year old, but this must have been speed dipped in the barrel

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with a thin tan head, quite a medicinal aroma, taste is sweet with some chocolate, phenols, hint of sweetness.
