COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Won a gold medal at the 'Monde Selection Bruxelles'1987. Ringnes took over and closed Nordlands Bryggeri in Bodø shortly after, but continued brewing Nordlandspils at E.C. Dahls Bryggeri (another Ringnes subsidiary) in Trondheim. The beer has a golden colour with a faint tinge of brown, and a malty aroma with a faint scent of flowery meadow and fruit. The flavour is aromatic and supple, with sweetish notes of mellow fruits.

Klar ravfarget med lavt skum. Duft av honning, gress og et forstyrrende element av kokte grønnsaker. Grei friskhet med litt gress og karamell. Lett bitterhet mot slutten

Above average for a Norwegian macrobrew. Just about the right combination of bitterness and sweetness to win the competition against the likes of Hansa, Dahls or Turborg pilseners. No aftertaste, which for a major Norwegian pilsener is better than the alternative. Average color and mouthfeel.

33cl bottle from Meny Bjølsen. Pours clear pale golden. Mild grainy with hints of honey and mild grassy hops. Medium sweet with a light, but noticeable bitterness. Quite standard industrial, far from the worst, but also far from exiting. Drinkable, but boring.

On bottle from Meny Løren. Golden color, ok foam. Low aroma intensity, but what can be found are; some malt, very light citrus and hops and some citrus in the finish: most dominating aroma is boiled vegetables. Light body & complexity. Good bitterness. A small notch above std macros

Can 0.5L abv 4.5%, bought at supermarket. Fruity malts and grassy hops to the nose, faint notes of berry heather. Fragile head that diminishes fast upon the bright golden body, leaving spread scattered spots and almost no lacing. Tastes grains, hops, some fruity malts, a little bitterness in the back. A bit watery metallic to palate. Ends with bread, hops, cardboard, grains, a little bitter underneath. An average but a bit watery pale pal, and should be served chilled. Goes alright with dinners, potato chips and snacks.
