COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Draught at the brewpub. Dark reddish brown color. Aromas and flavors of burnt caramel, nuts, toasted bread and some citrus. Some vanilla ice cream in the aroma. Full bodied but not sweet. These red ales are not my style of beer.

On tap @ Nørrebro Bryghus, Copenhagen. Pours a deep red-hued brown body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is subtle floral fruity tones, caramel and red berries - it’s also served very cold, so it takes a while for me to also detect bubble gum traces and some herbal notes in the back. Taste is caramel, red berries, hints of water melon and floral hops. Smooth and quite delicious mouthfeel, with superb balance. I really enjoyed this one.

Draft at the source. Hazy variegated purple color, thick beige head. Aroma of coffee, cherries, caramel. Taste is toasted caramel, subtle coffee grounds, finish of cocoa powder. Not bad.

Tap at Norrebro. Muddy maroon pour with medium carbonation. Foam leaves webby lacing. Nose is sticky, old, oxidized, heavy acetaldehyde (green and red apple slices). Taste is astringent, tannic, like sucking on tree bark. Total palate wrecker. Unusable in a beer tasting. Great for not being able to taste anything for 2-3 hours.

Draught @ Brewpub

Pours dark red with a sticky foamy head. Aroma of caramel malts, berries and hops. Taste is malty with notes of berries and caramel. Bitter and caramely finish. Okay, quite tasty.

Draught @ The Brewpub
Aroma is sweet with chocolate and gooseberries. Flavour has vanilla ice cream and lots of somewhat tart gooseberries. Too much berries here.

lusikka (6434) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 9, 2012
Draught @ the brewpub, Copenhagen.
Pours an amber colour with a creamy, lacy and white head. Aroma of gooseberry bush, vegetables and some caramel. Flavour of stuffy biscuity malts, gooseberry bush, perfume and strong bitter hops. Medium bodied, rough mouthfeel and a bitter, rough finish. Not very balanced and has some disturbing notes.

10 cl sampler @ Brewpub.
Pours clear red color with medium-sized head. Aroma of sourish dark berries, malts, grass and some herbal notes. Flavour of goose berries, malts, fruits and some berry notes.
