COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: Nørrebro Bryghus’s interpretation of the classic India Pale Ale. A powerful beer brewed exclusively from English Marris Otter malt which gives a deep and an intense malt character. Plenty of fruity ale aromas supplemented by bold notes of classic English aroma hops added after fermentation (dry hopping).
Big body, high bitterness and some sweetness characterize this golden 6.5 % ABV beer.

Bottled. Pale amber. Strong citrus and toffee aroma. Sweet and malty, the hop presence gets more obvious towards the finish, which holds piney bitterness.

Cloudy amber color. Maybe something’s wrong, as there is a sour note in the nose, and a sour bitterness in the taste.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy yellow. I was obviously unlucky sampling the poorest examples of Bryghuset. This felt like a weissbier with an overwhelming sourness. Big disappointment, considering the style.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2007 (on tap)The color is very, very orange this time and the brew has a odd sour/sweet aftertaste. This brew is sure to divide the drinkers in likers and not-likers. For my part I like the fact that Nørrebro Bryghus this time has taken a step away from the tendese to make too-sweet-for-my-liking beer. It´s not the best US IPA I´ve had, but it´s refreshing and that´s no. 1 for an IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2004 On-tap, served in small, conical sample glass. Orange/gold color, slightly cloudy. Assertive, (grassily) hoppy aroma. Impressive, well-hopped taste w/ a crisp bite and a nice, long, finish. Easy to drink. A very drinkable, satisfying IPA, this is one of the better brews from Nørrebro Bryghus.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2004 Draught at the brewpub. Not very good IPA, just like Nørrebro Bryghus' other brews it lack the charactaristics of the style. Some hops and malt, but not overwhelming. Very sad example of an IPA.

Orange, clouded. A nice IPA. Quite hoppy and nitter, still nice balance between the fruit taste and the bitter hoppy taste.

Draught at Nørrebro Bryghus (only place available). Small head on a hazy orange body that looks like a sunrise! Beautiful! Nose of yeast and oranges. Taste of malt, oranges, yeast, fruit and candied peel. Bitter aftertaste. Very nice and spicy beer!

Orange, very cloudy colour. A bit sweet for an IPA, but maybe I just prefer the American style? It was balanced by a decent bitterness, but more complexity in the hoppiness would be good.

Cloudy blond beer. The aroma is full of hops. Surprisingly low bitterness for an IPA. The taste is rather neutral. It needs some more sting.
