COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Deep brown beer with a nice huge foamy beige head. Coffee with some dark chocolate, earthy roasted grains and burnt wood, mild caramel. Medium bodied one with a light oily consistance, rosted grains and burnt woods again in the flavor with sourish and earthy peat, mild dark chocolate, light hop. Dark chocolate, roasted aftertaste.

On tap. Pours black and opaque with a small and creamy light brown head. The nose is dominated by sweet coffee. Medium body, fairly hard roasted malt giving you this very coffeeish feeling - some vanilla too. Fairly subdued malt bitterness. Fine indeed, but I’d call this a Coffee Stout rather than a Chocolate Stout. 280910

Draft. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and lots of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted and burnt malt and more like ground cocoa beans than chocolate, leading to a very dry and roasted finish, where a light note of chocolate lingers. I guess the extreme dryness is due to a very low level of residual sugar.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a dense, creamy and chocolate brown head. Aroma is chocolate, dark roasted malt and liqourice. Dark liqourice and roasted dark malty. Lingering roasted, liqourice and dark acidic chocolate into a bitter and dry finish. A tad too "acidic" roasted and somewhat one-dimensional - I missing some body to the dark flavours.
