Flaske: Rødbrun uklar øl med et lille skumhoved. Gushede en smule da den blev åbnet. Kraftig duft af lyng og lavendel. Minder lidt for meget om jul her i slutningen af marts. Spændende ide, men alt for parfumeret i smagen. Konen ville ikke drikke den, og jeg har ikke lyst til mere end et lille glas.

600 ml (?) bottle shared with a few TO based bartowelers. pours amber with a lingering white head. the aroma is quite spice forward which might be from the heather but im not to sure. the spice addition added significant complexity to the flavour. i found this one to be kinda all over the place and while i enjoyed it i wouldnt rush out to buy more. definantly something youd have to be in the mood for but in the right place it could be brillient.

Thanks Boutip! Poured out a very deep amber with a small dissipating tan edge hugging fizz. The aroma is quite spiced and herbed. Mint, ginger, cinnamon, caramel, cookie dough, unleavened bread. Odd scents thankfully are at a manageable potency. Another day and I may have dug this more but I’m influenced by impy stouts which follow this. Cinnamon and ginger up front on the taste, christmasy no doubt. weak clove, light soda feel. caramel, light clove, herbs are under control. Pumpkin pieish for sure for flavour yet not disgustingly so like a pumpkin based brew. Minor carbonation is a bit spritzy, leaves a bit of coating. Finishes out with very mild bitterness and a fading blend of everything. It’s ok but that’s it.

(on bottle) Finally I got to taste the cooporation between NB and Cambridge and what a result.I realy enjoyed the flavours and lightness of this fine brew. Only kickinít at 5,5, I suspected the lack of hops would make it a thin mouth and the lavender to make it too perfumed; but the yarrow is right on the spot, making a eathy, herby level of taste, that carries the beer home. This beer has a wide range of uses for sure.

Clear brown with a small baige head. Wow, no doubt about whats in this one, loads of heather leading your thoughts to heather honney. Flavor is sweet with a candy feel to it leading to a sleightly dry finish.

Dark amber body, off white head. Aroma of cinnamon, bun, dough, bread. Traditional scottish ale, I think. Sweet roasted malt in flavour. Texture is too thin and watery. Nice beer, but there is something missing.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2010 600ml bottle from DK. Pours dark amber with lasting off white head. Nose is big on cinnamon and lavender. Body is malty and sweet with more herbal notes. Different beer, a bit like drinking potpourri ;)

On tap at brewery (yeah, backlog). Poured a hazy amber. Aroma was very fruity and ’fresh’. However, this is probably more for the girls (extreme prejudice going on here) than for a guy who loves stouts like me. Short story: I didn’t finish it...it was like drinking the contents of a flower vase. Won’t be missed.

En meget fin øl, flot harmoni imellem lyng og malt. Forfriskende og samtidig med en god smag. Dejligt med en øl på 5,5% alkohol med så dejlig en smag.

From 60 cl Bottle. The beer pours out on the floor when opening - homebrewstyle. Not impressive for a filtered beer. The sour smell and taste makes me doubt if its infected by a friendly brett? Cloudy reddish appearance. Sour, spicy nose. Sweet and sour well balanced in taste. It takes some getting used to the lack of hopflavour (not like in belgian sour ales). I really enjoyed it.
