Bottle. 7.0%. Best before 06.05.13. As ’Baldersbrønde Nordsjællands Jul’. Pours a clear dark amber/brown with a diminishing khaki head. No lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet with a tart twist and a fruity note, giving it a sort of yoghurt feel ...peach melba flavour, I believe. Light malt in the background. As it warms, the yoghurt-thing settles a bit down, and the fruity note approaches raisin, but doesn’t quite get there, while the malt gains a bit more influence. Flavour is dusty and malty, sweet and with some (dark) fruit notes. Light spicy notes as it warms; cloves and a touch of citrus. Tart and mildly bitter finish with a lingering grainy note. Overall a rather boring beer, and a bit unbalanced. 04.12.12.

400 ml bottle, as Nørrebros Julebryg Økologisk, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. BB date 15.04.2014. ABV is 7.0%. Deep reddish brown colour, moderate beige head. Strong aroma of Christmas spices, also malts, stale cola and caramel. Malty flavour with some sweetness, but not too much. Plenty of Christmas spices, but still fairly well balanced. Very moderate hops. Nice enough to drink.

Bottle, only two years past its best-before... Pours a deep red-brown with a fast-settling head and a spiced musty nose. Taste is old ale, old wine, mulling spices, touches of caramel and blackcurrant, lightly bitter and spiced finish. Odd.

The aroma is full of spices. Smells a lot of Christmas. The color is red/caramel. The taste is full of spices and oranges. The finish is light and almost doesn’t existence. Not a fan at all.

Rune (9504) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 24, 2014
400ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Near clear amber coloured body. Off-white head reduced to a remaining layer. Not much lace. Mid-sweet aromas of brown malts, nuts, and prunes together with a smooth spicy touch. Comprehensive taste profile of jammy fruits with a touch of ripe banana joined by clove and dark malts. Mild fruity bitterness to the finish keeping some of all the sweetness at bay. Fine bodied. Decent sipper qualities on the night before Christmas (Tromsø 23.12.2014).

This one is rather special, a lot of spices dominates both the aroma and taste. Looks delicious in a glass, with its red color. It’s a tad watery, otherwise an okay beer, and definitely one to try out if you’re into something different.

StoutHead (888) - DENMARK - NOV 25, 2014
2014 Bottle. Pours a cloudy red color with a large off-white foamy head. Aroma of malt, fruits and spices. Taste is prety much like the aroma - malt, fruits, yeast and more spices than you can shake a stick at. Sweet with a watery and slightly bitter finish. Body and carbonation is average. And so is the beer. It’s not too bad but it’s not one I’ll buy again.
