Bottle. 7.0%. Best before 06.05.13. As ’Baldersbrønde Nordsjællands Jul’. Pours a clear dark amber/brown with a diminishing khaki head. No lacing. Aroma is somewhat sweet with a tart twist and a fruity note, giving it a sort of yoghurt feel ...peach melba flavour, I believe. Light malt in the background. As it warms, the yoghurt-thing settles a bit down, and the fruity note approaches raisin, but doesn’t quite get there, while the malt gains a bit more influence. Flavour is dusty and malty, sweet and with some (dark) fruit notes. Light spicy notes as it warms; cloves and a touch of citrus. Tart and mildly bitter finish with a lingering grainy note. Overall a rather boring beer, and a bit unbalanced. 04.12.12.

Bottle. Pours clear mahogany-brown with a thin beige head that mostly disappears. Little to no lacing. The aroma is warm and spicy with star anise, licorice, caramel, fruity and yeasty. The taste is light sweet, minimal bitterness. The palate is rather watery. Short spicy finish. Warm and pleasant winter ale, although somewhat lacking of complexity.

Bottle, 40cl. Pours redly brown with a small, stable beige head. Rich aroma of caramel malt, oranges, nutmeg, cinnamon, dried fruits and yeast. Flavour is moderate-highly sweet toffee and malty based. Caramel, raisins, nutmeg, marzipan and sugar. Medium body. Soft to average carbonation. Sticky, oily texture and finish.

Flaska. Mjuk munkänsla, något stickig alkohol i eftersmaken. Men med det sagt, det är ingen dum öl alls.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Rødbrun i fargen, medium skum. Lukter av gjær, krydder og tørket frukt. Smaken er av malt, gjær og krydder. Tynn konsistens og litt anonym i smaken. Et bra øl, men litt kjedelig på smak.

50cl bottle from onkelgobber. Appearance - red/amber in colour with some head. Nose - toffee, some biscuits and probably nutmeg or cinnamon. Taste - toffee and spices. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy/crunchy texture and a dry finish. Overall - a bit thin for the 7% alcohol but an enjoyable beer all the same. I didn’t pick up the Belgian aspect when I was drinking it - thought it was like an imperial amber or something.

Bottle. It’s a clear, amber colored beer topped by a small, beige head. Ginger, cardamom, raisins and a caramel maltyness in the aroma. Pretty similar flavor, sure on the malty side, with some bubblegum hints. Medium to full body, soft on the palate. Spiced, malty finish. It’s sure a decent beer, not way too spiced, but I find it rather boring and uninteresting. 130111

Draught (I recall...)@CPH BF 2013. Ambery brown colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is spices, some sweet malts along with caramel and some mild sugary and a bit perfumed soapy notes. Flavour is sweet malts, caramel, some floral and spicy notes along with mild bananalike sweetness to it as well. Pleasantly balanced and over all a nice Xmas beer, where the spiciness isn’t that dominating.
