500 ml bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. Price of $7.99.Tulip glass shows a dirty murky brown with tiny white head. Nose is fruity, malty with a light indescribable spice. Flavor is different. Cinnamon, caramel ,earthy spice and dark fruit I would like to call figs. Nice strong malt backbone. Medium body with soft carbonation. I know this was sitting on the shelf at the store for a while. With that said, it aged ok.

60 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 11.12.2009
Aroma is spicy and malty with raisins and some berries. Flavour has spices, some harsh malt, berries, mulled wine and hints of vegetables. Quite different than I remembered – and worse. A dunkler bock with too much christmas spices added.

600ml bottle, been at the back of my fridge for quite a while. Gorgeous deep brick red pour, large frothy/fizzy tan head. Aroma - sweet malt, a bit nutty, plenty of spice, some alcohol - 3 years old and smells terrific. Taste follows, less spice, a little more barley wine-ish (some bitterness) - not too boozy; a little thin, mild carbonation, quickish finish; I think it’s breaking down just a touch, but still a fine drinking beer, not boozy at all.

Bottled, at the 2008 prague Xmas beer markets, one of the first Czech beer events to really showcase a variety of quality international breweries. Lightly murky brown with a faint head; aroma of rye and juniper; pleasant mix of Xmas spice with clove and cinnamon although the end product is nothing too flash
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 radiomgb (2143) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 9, 2012
Very deep mahogany in colour with a thin off-white coloured head, very light lacing. The aroma is quite spicy, lots of ginger, cloves, some liquorice, some prunes and plums. The flavour is a bit warming, sweet, cloves and ginger abound, deep and dark. Warming sweet mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, spicy, warm.
Quite nice. Although its not all that cold outside this is a fantastic beer for the winter.
600ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on February 27, 2011.
Best before January 5, 2012.
