Commercial Description:
This sweet stout has been added cold water extract from a Mexican ecological single estate coffee. The result is a discrete coffee aroma that mixes with the slightly burnt licorice aromas from the dark malts combined with spices. The flavor is slightly sweet with an average palate and moderate bitterness and aftertaste.

What looks to be lightly cloudy brown liquid with a moderate tan colored head. Dark acidic roast coffee aromas with a touch of toasted malt and a hint of dark chocolate. Smooth and lightly silky on the palate. Lightly roasted malt start with hints of coffee, sweetened with heavy cream. The cream carries well into the finish where a mild lactose and coconut milk flavor kicks in. Fairly dry and leaning toward boring in the linger. This comes off as a very simple and easy to drink kind of brew. I would say that its strength is in it simplicity.

Bottle; at Monk’s Cafe Nørrebro dinner (8/9/07) and Tria Fermentation School class (8/12/07). Poured very deep brown, with a moderate-sized brown head. Rich roasted coffee aroma. Flavor is primarily sweet chocolate malt with some smoke and espresso; the coffee is not overwhelming as in some coffee flavored stouts. Dry, chocolate finish. Nice stout.

wow! i like dark beer, but not strong dark beer. This one stands out. it’s marvelous. so many tastes so thick.. so addictive.. probably the best stout i ever tasted. they say supreme desser-beer. i agree, i don’t want to eat anything as long as i can taste the aftertaste.. great! the coffee part is just right. they have not overdone it.

250ml on tap at Nørrebro Bryghus. This one became one of the highlights during a summer trip to Copenhagen in early august. Coffee aroma in the direction of espresso. Pitch black body. Almost no head. Lightly roasted flavour with a complex, but balanced taste of coffee beans, cocoa, discreet liquorice and even some dark fruits. The finish is made up of smooth bitterness (03.08.2007).

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours black/broen with a huge creamy brown head. Aroma of coffee, slight fruit note beneath. Mouthfeel is soft. Flavour is first sweet fruity, followed by coffee and goes into a lovely coffee and hops bitter finish. Slight edge to the coffee flavour.
