4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ibrew2or3 (5823) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Woodshed 2.0. Huge thanks to stobbe74 for shipping me this over two years ago. Soeren!! The bottle pours out with a murky mahogany body supporting a thin tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up brown sugar covered cherries and prunes as well as a bit of booze at the end of the draw. The taste delivers nectar like oxidized sherry goodness as well as prunes moving into more and more booziness. To midway it begins to get into smooth sweet bourbon booze. Into the finish the bourbon and sweet dark fruity esters end the sip with a wonderful integrated dance of flavor harmony.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pantanap (3200) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2013
375ml bottle... Pours a dirty murky and deep caramel toffee hue and topped with a minimal bubbly ring around the edges of the glass... Aroma of musty old papery, somewhat oxidized, deeper dark fruit and toffee with a rich fruit cake presence. A little past its prime but ok... Flavors are an improvement with a deeper richer yet sweet caramel toffee and dark fruit, namely raisin and dates. Somewhat fuller bodied with a lighter level of carbonation. Flavor profile is solid although somewhat falling of.

2nd April 2010 Cloudy dark brown beer. Intense condensed milk and vanilla nose. Light airy palate, semi soft and quite dry. Sweet vanilla buttercream malt with a hint of coconut cream and a nice dash of bourbon. The sweetest bourbon barrel beer I have ever tasted. A real dessert beer! Finishes light and dry. Very moorish and very good.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 phredrik (989) - Copenhagen (formerly Aalborg), DENMARK - FEB 14, 2012
Going on 5 years of age, about 2,5 years after bottling. Love the bottle shape, love the label, hate those damn huge caps. The beer pours a lovely chestnut brown, tending ruby red as it’s held up to the light. As it was poured there was half a finger of head, but it quickly faded to just form a ring of foam. The aroma is just outstanding - lots of sweetness, caramel, maple syrup, figs, prunes, muted bourbon and vanilla notes - not overpowering at all. Chocolate, tobacco, sherry, all kinds of awesome - extremely complex. The taste is also very nice. Begins with an oxidized sherry-like fruity note, aged tawny port notes, dark fruits and tobacco. Still notes of cheese and chocolate, and a very modest sourness in the back, almost like an unripe strawberry or a gooseberry. Moderate bourbon impressions, but has some hot alcohol in the end of the palate. Texture is really fat and oily, the modest but velvety carbonation makes it sorta creamy. This is impressive. The whole Little Korkny series is impressive. I’m very happy that I still have bottles of the other two BA editions to revisit.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby red color with a small beige head. Aroma is of light bourbon, vanilla and oak, with lots of dark fruits like raisins, figs and some caramel, buttery notes and booze. The flavor follows the nose, lots of dark fruits again raisins figs, some red grapes, brown sugar, some bourbon, vanilla and oak notes and some booze. The body is medium with a syrupy mouthfeel. Overall a pretty good take on Little Korkny but I prefer the cognac.
