COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: 537 bottles of 37,5 cl made.

Bottle. It pours hazy dark reddish brown with a small creamy light tan head. The aroma is heavy toasted caramel, dried dark fruit, vanilla, cookies and oak. Quite complex. Lots of sweet caramel and dried dark fruit in the flavour. Notes of raisins, prune, bourbon, vanilla, oak and sweet tobacco. Very nice.

This baby is from the time of experiences on nørrebros bryghus. Shaun hill was there back then - some really good beers came out in special releases then and this is one of them. Limited release no. 7. The pour is surprisingly knocked up with carbonation - so it appears with a fizzy attitude in the glass where the tanned head slowly looses it’s potent presens. The body is murky and brown like a cola - the heavy carbonation helps with that impression. The nose is filled with vanilla and coco- nuts soaked in brandy. Secondly some heavy malts. Heavy bourbon aroma. The bourbon stuff is also heavy in the taste and I can’t help thinking of pina colada. The texture and body is pretty thin which surprise me but with a touch of alcohol that you can feel like an itch in both ears. Nice long finish where the malty sweetness and the bourbon vanilla keeps you company. Thumps up and cheers

Bottled. Dark brown, almost no head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate and port. Sweet and full bodied with chocolate sauces and caramel. Some sticky sweetness and almost raisiny malt makes it more akin to port than bourbon. Light licorice-like bitterness.

Bottle from Ølbutikken. Pours dark brown with a smallish creamy head. Complex marzipan, chocolate and vanilla aroma. Also some raisins, especially in the mouth, where the beer tightens up a bit, displaying acidity and bitterness. Still the sweetness lingers from chocolate and marzipan. A masterpiece.

Bottle. Pours with a minimal, fizzy light tan head, murky brown with orange highlights around. Aroma is rich with bourbon, salty and quite savory at points moving on to some prunes and malty sweetness, woody as well. Bourbon shines at first, then some woodiness, rich dark fruit sweetness. Warming alcohol and a medium body that coats the palate well. Tiny bubbly carbonation. Nice.

Bottled. Very deep ambery brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is vanilla, alcohol, some plum, quite spicy, some dark dry fruits and some quite nice fruity notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a very nice balance. I think this one has saved a lot of the Little Korkny, so not ruined by barrel aging.

0.375 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Hazy mahagony color. The aromas of thick bourbon, figs, black currant and raisins. Thick sweet juicy and vinous flavor with raisins, figs, oak and black currant juice. Very juicy and concentrated taste, nice dessert. Great with Danish Danbo cheese. Slightly too much figs.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2011 Bottle, 375ml. Thx Tom for bringing it home. It’s an almost flat beer, unclear brown body with just some beige bubbles for a head. A lovely vinous aroma presents dried fruits, alcohol, oxidation and some caramel. The flavor is quite vinous too, full-bodied, warming and flat, with dried fruits, some berry-like sourness, and some bitterness to match the other flavors. Warming and bitter finish. A lovely beer, combining sour, sweet and bitter in a very elegant way. Rating: 8-3-8-4-17-4. 100415

Bottle. It’s a clear, light brown beer with a few beige bubbles for a head. The aroma has bourbon, dried fruits, a touch of hops and a faint caramel hint. Rather sweet on the palate, with dried fruits and some caramel notes. Bourbon and some hops too, bitter towards the end, where there’s also some dried fruits. Full-bodied and warming. Although bourbon is far from a favorite of mine, it works nice with this beer. 110513

Bottle at KØ10. Good caramelly aroma. Almost clear deep chestnut colour. Good sweet flavour, very round vanilla flavour. Slightly tartness in the finish to balance off the sweetness.
