3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasting at Nørrebro Bryghus. Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Smells of bourbon barrel. Sweet with aromas of dried fruits. Also some alcohol notes. Full bodied, but seems to have lost some body with the ageing? Low carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle again shared by Ibrew2or3 @ Woodshed 2.0! This one held up a bit better than the Niepoort barrel. Get some caramel, toffee, sherry, honey, biscuit, cracker, and a hint of bourbon. Slight vanilla and wood.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11-FEB-2011, bottle @home, with Ulkløbben, from "Ølbutikken".
Brown, nice beige head. Bitter, citric, piney nose with malts in the form af dried figs and nuts.
A little thin in the middle and then the bourbon taste kicks in.
Still fine carbonation. Somewhat like an American strong ale with it’s strong malt base and still hefty hops.
The fourth barley wine this evening, and by far the best.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
(on bottle) Very dark rubt red in the first pour, very nice and cler.Last two thirds was full of fine sediment and turned into Baileys brown. Sent dominated by vanilla and malts. An edgy taste , still malts, dried fruits and a very present alcool burn, not a smooth beer to have, big tho´.There´s a very, very dry mouthfee in the end,the wood is almost clinging to one´s teeth, gives the beer a finish of old wood and some tobacco.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours with a minimal, fizzy light tan head, murky brown with orange highlights around. Aroma is rich with bourbon, salty and quite savory at points moving on to some prunes and malty sweetness, woody as well. Bourbon shines at first, then some woodiness, rich dark fruit sweetness. Warming alcohol and a medium body that coats the palate well. Tiny bubbly carbonation. Nice.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
375 ml bottle; wow, thanks Tom!!! 2007 vintage; pours a muddy reddish amber with aromas of pure candy, bourbon and vanilla; sticky malts, creamy sugars and sticky bourbon; yummy; vanilla cookies, bready lemons, sticky dry fruit and lots of caramel; doughy, sweet and sticky; a damn good BW with a little buttery flavors that detract slightly

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Going on 5 years of age, about 2,5 years after bottling. Love the bottle shape, love the label, hate those damn huge caps. The beer pours a lovely chestnut brown, tending ruby red as it’s held up to the light. As it was poured there was half a finger of head, but it quickly faded to just form a ring of foam. The aroma is just outstanding - lots of sweetness, caramel, maple syrup, figs, prunes, muted bourbon and vanilla notes - not overpowering at all. Chocolate, tobacco, sherry, all kinds of awesome - extremely complex. The taste is also very nice. Begins with an oxidized sherry-like fruity note, aged tawny port notes, dark fruits and tobacco. Still notes of cheese and chocolate, and a very modest sourness in the back, almost like an unripe strawberry or a gooseberry. Moderate bourbon impressions, but has some hot alcohol in the end of the palate. Texture is really fat and oily, the modest but velvety carbonation makes it sorta creamy. This is impressive. The whole Little Korkny series is impressive. I’m very happy that I still have bottles of the other two BA editions to revisit.
