COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: 537 bottles of 37,5 cl made.

This was a big time rec from Jeppe at Olbutikin, and he came through. Pours medium brown with light amber highlights, light tan head, decent retention, very good carbonation overall...The aroma is fantastic, tons of vanilla, spicy bourbon wood, a light hoppy bw finish. Sweet, and balanced from start to finish...The taste just keeps up where the aroma left out, totally outstanding and super smooth to boot. Wood, vanilla, light hops, and so easy to drink...Really nice feel and super easy to drink. This is by far the best barleywine I’ve ever had. Look high and low for this one.

Bottle shared with friends 11-18-11. Pours caramel brown with little heading and appearance of carbonation. Nose is sweet bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Taste is mostly sweet components of caramel, bourbon, and vanilla much like the nose. Finishes with a dry oak note. Excellent ba barley wine.

11-FEB-2011, bottle @home, with Ulkløbben, from "Ølbutikken". Brown, nice beige head. Bitter, citric, piney nose with malts in the form af dried figs and nuts. A little thin in the middle and then the bourbon taste kicks in. Still fine carbonation. Somewhat like an American strong ale with it’s strong malt base and still hefty hops. The fourth barley wine this evening, and by far the best.

Bottle from Ølbutikken. Pours dark brown with a smallish creamy head. Complex marzipan, chocolate and vanilla aroma. Also some raisins, especially in the mouth, where the beer tightens up a bit, displaying acidity and bitterness. Still the sweetness lingers from chocolate and marzipan. A masterpiece.

Dark brown with a small beige head. Fantastic fat malt aroma with nicely integrated bourbon. Lots of stuff going on, caramell, figs, raisin, vanilla, toffe, chocolate and light alcohol. Flavour is about the same but appears slightly less complex with a addition of light alcohol giving it a luxorious touch. Ends on a bitter sweet nice barrel lingering note. Mouthfeel is fat and slick but still easy enough to drink. The BA Korrkny series kicks ass.

Cloudy dark brown beer. Intense condensed milk and vanilla nose. Light airy palate, semi soft and quite dry. Sweet vanilla buttercream malt with a hint of coconut cream and a nice dash of bourbon. The sweetest bourbon barrel beer I have ever tasted. A real dessert beer! Finishes light and dry. Very moorish and very good.

Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany brown color with a small tanned head. No lacings. The smell is rich and heavy with a wonderful malty character of fudge, caramel and toffee. Notes of sweet vinous fruits. The bourbon is prominent, but very smooth and well integrated, not overpowering at all. The flavor is sweet and malty with notes of nutty toffee and caramel. Lots of sweet fruity notes here as well. Some vanilla. The bourbon adds a nice layer of complexity in the middle. It ends warming with notes of caramel and bourbon. Full bodied and very creamy. Subtle carbonation makes for good drinkability. This is a great beer, a nice and warming sipper.

Bottle at KØ10. Good caramelly aroma. Almost clear deep chestnut colour. Good sweet flavour, very round vanilla flavour. Slightly tartness in the finish to balance off the sweetness.

(on bottle) Very dark rubt red in the first pour, very nice and cler.Last two thirds was full of fine sediment and turned into Baileys brown. Sent dominated by vanilla and malts. An edgy taste , still malts, dried fruits and a very present alcool burn, not a smooth beer to have, big tho´.There´s a very, very dry mouthfee in the end,the wood is almost clinging to one´s teeth, gives the beer a finish of old wood and some tobacco.

Bottle at Nørrebro Bryghus. Clear red brown coloured with a small off white head. Sweet aroma of caramel, dried fruits, cookies and alcohol with notes of port wine and vanilla. Sweet flavour of caramel, dried fruits, cookies, alcohol and port wine. Sweet and warming alcoholic finish.
