Brown, no head. Malt and wineous nose. Thick. Low carbonation. Malt, wineous and alcohol aromas. Sour. Ok, but not my style.

Tap at Norrebro. Muddy maroon pour with bubbles. No head formation. Nose is sticky, old, port, figs, overripe fruits, mild DMS, older raisin. Taste is sticky to the max with vinous port wine. Mild toffee, chocolate, coffee. Some vinous red wine notes and hints of acetic acid. Some cooked broccoli and green vegetal DMS comes through as it warms. Stickier syrup palate. This place has got to work on brew basics. Need ventilation, no more organic malt, better yeast, and better sparging. Probably just needs a new brewer.

Scopey (3243) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2012
Tap at Nørrebro. It pours deep ruby, with a thin beige head. The nose is sweet, wood, vinous notes, almond, vanilla, marzipan, toast and jam. The taste is vinous, berry, fig, date, prune, plum, spice, red grape, wood, leather, jam, marzipan, varnish and booze, with a warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Well balanced and indulgent. A delicious barley wine.

400 ml bottle in the camper on a tour around Denmark (post S&B and CBC). Pours deep amber brown with tiny, yellowish beige head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, plums, raisins, alcohol. Full body with overwhelming sweetness, alcohol warmth as from the mid to finish and well after that. No carbo. Taste of honey, spices (gingerbread). Quite sweet though.

Draught at brew house. Pours a cloudy amber with an offwhite head. Smells of candi sugar, which is overpowering an indistinguishable fruitiness. Tastes of a heavy sweetness, mild bitter, and a bit reminiscent of perhaps a marmalade. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, syrupy texture.

Draught @ Brewpub

2007 vintage - Pours dark red with a sticky bubbly and foamy head. Strong malty and wooden aroma with notes of oak, vanilla, and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with wooden and dark fruity notes. Finish is malty with notes of syrup and dark fruits. Nice, but perhaps slightly too sweet for my taste.

Dark copper, cloudy pour with a thin light beige, dissipating head. Strong aromas of alcohol, stale plum, hops, red wine, spice and caramel. Initially bitter morphing to sweetness. Alcohol warmth initially strong but subdues nicely. Low carbonation with the sweetness becoming syrup like as Little Korkny warms. It's a really well balanced barley wine the different tastes and aromas work well together. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours hazy brown, with a nice creamy head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt, with a good sweet touch of caramel. Flavour is quite dark, with plums and figs, some coffee notes and a quite marked oakiness. Fabulous finish, that lasts forever.

Bottle: Poured a medium copper color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of caramelized with light toffee notes. Taste is also dominated by caramel notes with light dry raisins and light toffee. Good Body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol which was suprising..A very very good beer which i look forward to having again soon.
