Pours out a reddish color with a tan head on it, looks really good. Smell is fruity, full of caramel malts, sugars, a little bit of hops (uh oh), and a touch of alcohol. This is where it went downhill. Since there is no bottled on date on the bottle and the ridiculous price of 14 dollars per bottle, I can only imagine that this beer was actually old, or if not old, then the hops fade very quickly. It was too sweet, not many hop flavors, and a weird off taste that I cant quite pinpoint. I know that I wouldnt buy this again stateside, but if I had a chance to drink it on tap over in Denmark, I would probably retry it. As is, my bottle was a 14 dollar drain pour. I couldnt finish 1/3 of the bottle. Bleh. I wish they had a bottled on date on this beer, that may help. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Strong aroma of resinous hops with carame, sucre d’orge and fruits. Very good flavor of hops resin, caramel, fruits and sucre d’orge with a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Updated: Oct 23, 2008Bottle. Aroma of citrus, pine (wood), restrainedly resinous, lots of rich, sweet caramel malt, brown sugar, toffee, fresh baked medium-toned-grained bread and bread crust, some meandering raspberry, boysenberry, tangerine, very complex. Flavor follows with many continuing complexities, rich toffee, caramel malt, doughy, lots of berries, the same slightly resinous piney hop bitterness that starts out under the malt, but carries through to a mild but pronounced bitter finish. blossoms even more with all sorts of intricacies that I am too inept to name. Certainly on the sweet, malty side for a DIPA, but the body never becomes cloying or even close to syrupy. Either the bottle was on the old side or you Danes have a different definition of DIPA than we Americans, but either way, what a great beer. LilBeerDoctor (1501), East Setauket, New York, USA

Aroma of caramel malt and bitter hops. Flavor is quite malty, wtih brown sugar, molasses, a hint of iced tea, and bitter hops. Too malty for a IIPA, more like a barleywine. Tasty though, I love that malt! harrisoni (6798), Ashford, Kent, England

Clear amber with thin beige head. Too much tea. Lots of hot hop and alcohol, some apricot fruit, lots of hop on end. But too mcuh tee flavour for me. tlind2 (604), Helsinki, Finland

Fruity hop aroma with dark malts. Plenty of licorice and juicy malt flavor, with nicely balanced bitterness and some warming alcohol as well. Syrupy mouthfeel. Reminds me a lot of Fuller’s 1845, which is a good thing. Quite nice, though I would have had trouble classifying it as a "double IPA". jrob21 (1264), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Nice fruity and sweet double here. Pours a dark amber color with an off white ead and some sticky big lacing. West coast IPA profile from the Danes here. Some resiny, piney, grassy, and grapefruit flavors. Grassy and piney aroma. A bitter hop finish. Hop delicisousness all around. Chipper (185), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Dark amber with a big off white head. Hoppy and sweet aroma. flavor is hoppy and sweeter, and maltier than any DIPA I’ve had. No burn form the high ABV content.
Very good brew, but certainly can’t drink many.
