Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

Bottle via trade a ways back, probably faded some. Shared with my girlfriend Cyn. Pours orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nice hoppy nose. Taste is sweet and hoppy, a bit overly sweet with not enough big hops for me. That said it ain’t bad.

Reddish amber appearance with a large beige head and nice lacing. Pine forest aroma backed up by citrus. Some toasted malts in the taste, but the array of hops soon overwhelms. Even a hint of pepper in the long lasting aftertaste. Full bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel with a noticable amount of alcohol. Very enjoyable and far from ordinary.

Deep mahogany in colour, dense off-white coloured head, excellent retention and lacing. The aroma was quite sweet, lots of caramel, some alcohol, lots of hops, some pine. The flavour was very rich and chewy, quite sweet, lots of piney hops, some alcohol, caramel, cookies and biscuits. Very rich mouthfeel, medium/large body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, sweet, lingering alcohol warmth.

I finally got to try this. I passed on this at Københavnske Øldage 2006 and at Oliver Twist in Stockholm because I was going to the brewery. They didn’t have it on tap at the brewery when I got there. This is an excellent IIPA, verging on Barley Wine.

600ml bottle obtained in trades with TheCheeseMan and MPA, thanks Dan and Mads Peter.

Bottle courtesy of GMCC52181. Pours a clear very dark amber with one finger beige head and spotty lacing. Nose is piney hops and sweet caramel malt. Taste is mild toffee background with grapefruit upfront and a mild bitter resin finish that doesn’t linger too long. Medium, semi-creamy mouth feel. Hides the alcohol well but is very warming. Good brew G-Dawg!

Hazy and copper-orange in the glass with yellow edges. Aromas of hops predominate: Soap, melon rind, sweet pine and lightly burnt caramel. Bitter center and bitter fruit on the finish, with plenty of alcohol to clean the palate up. Sticky grains on the finish, too. Not a bad-tasting beer, but it leaves a little balance to be desired. The alcohol flavors overwhelm the big, but delicate, hops in here. Nice malt flavors, mostly in the caramel family.

For as much as I dislike IPAs, I generally love Imperial IPAs. So too with this one: sweet and well rounded, with flavor (citrus and pine) to boot but some measure of balance and drinkability achieved. Bottle.

10 - 12 cl from sampler set at brewpub. Arrived a clear, bright copper color with a moderate, long-lasting beige head. Ripe fruity malts, pineapple, earthy pine, toffee malts and dried grapefruit rind in the aroma. Flavor features rich malts and a massive hop profile with pine resins, earthiness, caramel, touch of brown sugar with an acidic astringency in the finish. Smooth, full body and tingly carbonation.

19 dollar bottle. Pours a tea-colored hue, with a big white foamy head, and lots of lacing on the tulip. Giant bushel of floral hops in the aroma, vanilla, some citrus; grapefruit mostly. Flavor has that floral kick, and a hoppy bitter finish. Feels creamy. Has an annoying alcoholic touch. Bitter, and not very drinkable, although not because of the bitterness; it just has this acidic touch that drops the drinkability for me.
