| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden brown with an off-white/beige head. Malty aroma with hops in the background and a ‘funky’ touch that’s not altogether cool. Seems more in the brown ale range than IPA. Alcohol. As it warms, the funky touch fortunately disappears and hops are appearing. Sweet and fruity flavour. Plums. Slight notes of wood. Hop bitterness. Notes of liquorice which grows and becomes dominant in the finish as sweet and bitter. The alcohol is very present but not too dominating, although not too well-balanced either. Long, lingering bitterness. Didn’t really care for it at first, but it grew on me as it warmed. Not as good as I’d expected though. But still fair. 30-05-08. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 27, 2008 First off, this smells like a barleywine. Malty and sweet. Earthy floral hops. Deep brown gold color. Thin head. Taste has roast behind it with plenty of hop bitterness. Nice enough mouthfeel. Astoundingly underwhelming, however. DMRz (224), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2008 Color is dark for a DIPA - medium brown. Aromas of sweet malt, floral hops, and fresh peaches. Flavor is like drinking a glass of potpourri: floral hops, sweet malt, and ugli fruit. Very smooth and well balanced, with a profound hops charactor, yet without excessive bitterness. Very nice... RCL (1475), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2008 Very nice hoppy and sweet malt aroma, but the flavor is not nearly as bitter as one would expect. Sweet bread in the aroma is echoed in the flavor. Very nice. SaintMatty (1226), Tallinn, Estonia

Hoppy aroma with peach and a hint of chocolate. Pleasantly hoppy taste with some peach, grapefruit and toffee. Very nice and does not taste its strength. cbkschubert (1973), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2008 60 cl bottle via trade with tytoanderso - Pours a slightly hazy deep amber color with a large one and a 1/2 finger thick light tan head. Nice thick lacing. I could smell the aroma as I poured the beer. Aroma is big toasted malt and floral hops. Flvor is malt forward with some nice hops to back it. I bet this one was pretty good right off the bottling line. Palate is smooth with no astringent aftertaste. Medium to full body. The alcohol is slightly noticeable. A very good beer. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2008 Pours orangish copper with off white head. Aromas of hops, sweet malts and bread. Moderately sweet flavor with big hops balanced by big maltiness. Alcohol comes through slightly and gets more noticable as it warms. Nicely balanced DIPA. Medium to full body with average carbonation and an oily mouthfeel. A good, well balanced DIPA but expensive ($15). stobbe74 (700), Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 Tap, Ølfestival Aarhus 2008. Pours a deep amber colored beer with a light brown head. The aroma is hoppy, mostly american hops. The flavor is extreme bitterness, again with the american hops, grapefruit and citrus. Overall a very nice Triple IPA. I have earlier tried the Randalized version, which would gain additional 0,5-0,7 point.
