Deep amber with a creamy, filmy head. Aroma is resinous and faintly sweet with a weird mämmi twang pushing through. First sip is surprisingly smooth -- could be a lot pricklier. Bitter, but not engagingly hoppy, with some after-the-fact stickiness. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Thick red amber brown with a big thick ivory head and quickly forming sticky lacing. Smell is quite light flowers and honey. Sweet alcohol is present in the flavor. Flavor is rose petals and very little to no hops. Palate annoys me - high carbonation, thick but not very creamy or smooth. Different from what I was expecting. A pungent nose, but a little confused. Some yeast sneaks in. Flowery. Pours a deeper copper, with a bit of haze and a rim in off-white. Flavor develops an aged, oxidized English hop nose. Challenger comes to mind. I like it, but not in a Double IPA. This is much more barleywine-like beer. Very hop leaf forward, but in that aged, reduced manner. Some very distinct honey flavor in the malt. This tastes like 3-year old Bigfoot. Same chewy malt bill, same older hop cast, and same scortching alcohols. It’s delicious, but not top-flight for a double IPA. I’ve rarely seen this much older hop power. Dust covers up the middle of the flavor. Good body, good complexity, but not really all that interesting in the end. It doesn’t accomplish what it sets out to be. faroeviking (6032), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

Sweet aroma with lots of hops and pine. Very good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with a lot of hops, pine, citrus and a pleasant bitterness, which last long after in the finish. Nice brew indeed! kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is medium sweet caramel ,floral and grapefruit. Flavor is grapefruit, floral, caramel, citrus and peach. Full bodied, sticky texture. Long bitter finish. mjs (1483), Helsinki, Finland

Fruitiness from hops in nose. Likewise the hops dominate the taste, especially if the beer is cold. Quite heavy bodied, too. Sweetness from malts balances the hoppiness. 17thfloor (1479), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Pours a dark reddish/amber with a lovely creamy beige head that fades into craters. Funky, waxy, malty aroma, slightly sweet with some honey and fresh hops. First taste is dry and bitter. It pretty much stays that way, very faint, some peach and finishes with some alcohol. The English malt really sets the tone. Incredible palate, extremely fluffy yet still with some substance. Just like their porter... its all about understated refinement. Extremely drinkable, wonderful beer. Norrebro really excels at subtly....which is a shame because this beer just screams for that edge! o man this beer really requires some stilton cheese...mmmm badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA

Strong citrus, grapefruit, and caramel aroma. Sweet wine or grape taste, followed by grapefruit, citrus infused caramel, and a decent bitterness. Very good.
