Aroma of floral and piney hops, caramel, citrus, and grapefruit. Flavor is smooth and well balanced with sweet caramel, pine, grapefruit, and a hint of honey. Full bodied with a dry finish. An excellent imp/double ipa. MoDog (919), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in a tulip. This beer poured a slightly hazy dark amber color with a thick, sustained head of beige foam. A thick coating of lace covered the inside of the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of sweet oranges and grapefruit, peach, sugary caramel, honey, and also a bit of alcohol. The flavor consisted of thick, chewy caramel malt, lightly burnt sugar, and bitter grapefruit. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and slightly resiny with light carbonation. Overall, this was a really nice double IPA. Although the flavor was just a bit sweet, the balance between the abundance of malt and hops was very well done. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2008 From a 500mL Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy, caramel amber color with a thick head of tight bubbled ivory.
Caramel malt aromas interplay nicely with fresh lemon zest and white grapefruit hops. Bit of graham cracker,
toffee, and flaky mace. Yeast characters are clean and minimal, and just a hint of alcohol presence detected in the
nose. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated mouthfeel with a soft, almost flat texture. Malty up front, with notes of
toasted bread crust, graham cracker, and caramel malt. There’s even a hint of light roast in there as well. Falls
a bit flat mid-palate, but the hops kick in on the back end. The finish is really the best part, bringing a
quenching level of bitterness and flavors of white grapefruit and earthy red pine. For my tastes, I would prefer it
less malty with more hop flavor initially. A bit lighter body and firmer carbonation would zest it up a bit, too.
The finish is definitely the best part. Indra (2028), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 19, 2008 600ml bottle, 9.5% abv. Enticing fruity, citric, lightly sweet aroma, toasty and honeyish with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, cookie dough and a blend of spicy, earthy hop tones. Lightly hazy dark amber color with a dense, lasting head and intricate lacing. Flavor is impressively balanced between the massive amounts of malt and hops, with a pleasantly dark, sweet, almost roasty malt character blended with a profound bitterness and a depth of hop flavors, including pine, citrus, green, leafy herbs, light spice and flowers. Smoothly effervescent, full, warming mouthfeel with an ample body. Highly enjoyable. Thanks to boboski! golubj (1287), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle. Orange / brown pour with some off-white head. Aroma is some citrus hops, lemon zest, bitter malt, and pine hops. The flavor is the same, not very good for the style though. Palate is a little watery. Good amount of bitterness. alexanderj (2249), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of golubj; poured a dense orange-reddish, auburn color. Medium sized off white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, orange, toffee and flowers. Flavor was initially very metallic. Got better with more tastings of it; on the bitter side of the style. Probably on the overrate side, but thats just my opinion. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 17, 2008 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy light brown colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent strongly carbonated brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The aroma contained medium strength piney hops. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The nice balanced flavor contained notes of hops and brown malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. ekstedt (2420), Göteborg, Sweden

Earthy malt aroma, strong floral and spicy hops, some roasted notes. Medium bodied and smooth. Well balanced with a lingering soft bitterness. Feels a bit subdued in the hop aromas, perhaps should be drunk fresh, bottle was a couple of months old..
