Pleasant hoppy aroma of grapefruit, toffee, a bit of cinnamon spiciness and some bitter pine. Taste follows with a nice balance between hops and body (if the term balance can be used in an exemplar double IPA), with notes of bitter grapefruit rind, some chewy pine, a bit of sweet toffee body, a dash of alcohol, leading to a bitter somewhat yeasty finish. I’m not getting the overall hop complexity as the absolute best west-coast examples, but if I were to close my eyes I would never have guessed that this came from anywhere except the United States. Very well done tribute to the style, even if slightly outshined by the local best. BlackForestCO (825), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a clear copper color with a moderate off-white head that faded slowly. Aroma of hops, slight citrus, and a green earthiness. Sweet, smooth entry leads to an earthy hop hit with a slight citrus undertone and finishes semi-dry. Smooth, and moderately bitter. The hops in this were definitely different than what I am accustomed to, but it made it unique. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2008 A slightly hazed brown orange pour. Very prominate citrus hops with hints of malt. Large malt and smooth hop profile. Very good finishing bitter. Malt and hops combine to cover the abv very well. Carbonation and mouthfeel are very good as well. Solid well balanced beer. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 4, 2008 Pours a clear amber with a strong ruby hue. Nice crème head. Nose is strong hops with a noticeable alcohol tone. Comes off very vibrant indeed. Flavor is syrup like with a strong oily hoppy presence. Pine attributes abound. Nice and full, but very smooth. Feel has a smooth liquid and a nice carbonation to it as well. Very easy to drink. A nice smooth DIPA, and out of Denmark no less. This beer is proof that American beer producers are on to something. When people in other countries start emulating your hard core styles, that is when you have done something right. I have to agree with bark’s final statement. Pretty damn good!

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2008 2/01/2008: North Bridge Extreme has an intense hop orange aroma filled sweet caramel maltiness. There is also touches of pine, floral, and earthy/mold(?). This beer has a nice and clear copper color and a lasting, thick, dark beige to ivory-colored head. The flavor is toffee malt with some caramel notes followed quite a bit of orange, grapefruit, floral, and even pine/spruce hops. The bitterness level is actually quite benign (or maybe nothing seems overly bitter to me anymore!), but has a lasting aftertaste and lingering bitterness. This beer is nicely balanced between the sweetness and bitterness and the alcohol isn’t detectable in the flavor. This medium-full to full-bodied brew is thick, but quite smooth on the palate. Overall this is a non-unique Imperical IPA that is good, but not great and definitely overpriced. Come on, $13.99 a bottle?! This one isn’t close to being worth that price!
1 pt 4.3 fl oz bottle ƙ.5% Alc/Vol) from Tmoney99. Thank you very much Tom. I appreciate it! Rating #269 for this beer... toukopouko (31), Salo, Finland

Their bottle design is unique and very straightforward and modern. I just love the logo. I should give a minus point for the bottle size, but eh.. Beautiful, clear amber coloured with a thick head. Long lasting lacing. Some intense hop aroma, with notes of caramel, pine and lots of green things. Strikes with a full mouthfeel. Strong taste of hops in the beginning, but mellows down to a balanced malty and floral aftertaste, which makes you want to take another sip right away...
In conclusion this is one damn great IIPA, beautiful, interesting and just the thought of the IBU on this one makes me dream. ;)
