Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

1 pint 4.3 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a thick foamy beige head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of floral hops, pine and toffee. Taste of floral hops, pine resin, toffee and caramel. Excellent.

Bottle. Finally I´ve got my hands on this one. Until recently only available in Copenhagen. Red brown with pale brown medium and long lasting head. First impression of the aroma is citrus and pine but after a minute malt and bread notes appear. Taste starts quite malty and then as the beer gets to the throat a lot of hopps appear. Ends up bittter and dry. Alcoholcontent well hidden, but the bottle is too big ࿜ cl) for a beer of this type.

[bottle, consumed at Ebenezer’s Pub] Pours beautifully, dark amber in color, with a thick, sticky white head. Aroma is full of inviting citrus/mango hop power, with a solid malt foundation underneath. Flavors are initially huge, intense hop character, but not harsh or abrasive in any way. After an initial hop explosion, things turn to the malt side of the equation. Toasted, bready malt flavors really balance the bitterness nicely. An incredibily smooth and balanced beer. Oh, and it’s almost 10% alcohol? Yikes.. this one is so drinkable it’s almost scary. For me, this is one of the best IIPAs I’ve had. Outstanding!

My Bottom Line:
Lush caramel malts dovetail into the citrusy and floral hops spawning juicy apricots whose rising tango with the sprucey hop finish elicits elation from the tastebuds. Equilibrium resides within the intensity and a most beautiful beast of an American-style Strong Ale is born.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A fluffy sheet of foam protects the russet orange.
-Body is lusciously built, round but not obese.
-Carbonation is rather relaxed, helping us to enjoy the malt’s proficiency.
-Complex, drinkable and flavorful; what more could you ask for in a strong ale of any kind?
-The entire flavor profile is clean and expresses itself coherently; this not one of those raw and brash I2PAs.

Bottles.

Personal Milestone: Rating #4000!!!!!
And I’m glad I liked it, a DIPA seeming a logical choice for a hop-head like me. Great look, seeming more ruby in color than amber with a tall spongey head, a yellowish ecru, that laced the sides of the glass in huge chunks. The aroma actually begins with the toffee/caramel sweetness of malts only to be overtaken and submerged by HOPS! - pine, flower petals, grapefruit, and a dusty eathy scent. Smooth and dangerously drinkable, considering the strong alcohol content. The flavor begins with the malty sweetness, just enough to support the serious flavorful bitterness that ensues. It finishes on a hoppy, spicy note followed by the first real appearance of the alcohol by way of a cool burn. Very nice.
And now I think it’s about time that I got serious about my beer drinking!

This is a like a west coast brew gone horribly wrong, but wait, it’s from Denmark? This is a huge beer, and hugely out of balance. Lots of fruity sweetness, then overpowering piney citrus hoppiness. Kind of a palate killer just because the beer is all over the place with each different sip. Long lingering skunky aftertaste reminiscent of bongwater.

Clear amber body with a small beige head. Sweet, hoppy nose with grapefruit, cat, pine, alcohol and caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet with cotton candy, caramel, grapefruit, resinous pine and fruit punch. Medium/full sticky body is moderately carbonated with a warm finish. Much too boozy and sweet to be a good IIPA.

Bottle. Copper color with a light tan head. Piney, light citrus aroma. Piney, rich caramel, some grapefruit flavor. Fuller bodied. A bit too much malt. Pine, caramel, toasty malt linger with a bit of citrus. Nice.
