| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 20, 2007 Bottle. Pours copper and opaque with a nice tan head that subsides within a few minutes. Smells of pine, citrus, resin, caramel, hints of pepper and tea, some woodsy touches. Taste yields lots of caramel malt balanced out nicely by resiny hops. Mouthfeel is chewy with a hint of bitterness. Finish yields some nice residual maple/molasses hints. I can see why this is rated as highly as it is. I hope to try this on draught at the source some day. SuzyGreenberg (1368), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2007 bottle (tasting hosted by after4ever) - mild hop aromas with citrus and malts coming off stronger; again the malts thicken out the flavors and you don’t get much hop bitterness; we got too focused on the american comparison, but like the 100 gram, this is not a clone brew but rather a brew "inspired by" after4ever (2738), Brier, Washington, USA

This beer took some abuse in the course of everyone’s tasting it, but I think it’s a decent effort. Pours cloudy bright orange with a thin and somewhat fizzy-looking white head. Nice pine and mango nose--as was frequently pointed out, this is not the most smashing display of aromatic hops in the DIPA world, but it’s definitely still pleasant and palatable and well-executed. Medium body with firm carb. Plenty of sweet candied fruit across the mid-palate, rolling into a light pine and slightly resiny finish. Not a huge or lengthy finish for a DIPA, but good stuff. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a nice off-white head on top. Aroma is hops with grapefruit coming in but the aroma is not as strong as other IIPAs in terms of hop presences. Flavor is piney and citrusy with caramel in there as well. Spicy and grassy on the flavor profile too giving it a nice kick. Overall the beer is pretty balanced and enjoyable. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of herbal tea, caramel, pepper, apricot, and florals. Flavor of caramel malt, citrus, pine, floral, peaches, and herbs. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada

Comments: Draught at the brewpub. I’m afraid I did not much get this beer. Very filtered and it suffered a ton from it. Sure the hop bite is sturdy and confident, but malt complexity is nil and the texture is quite loose. Lacking grip and too clean.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Bottle. Very pretty goldish/red body with a thin ring of bubbles and a medium patch of bubbles. Nose-a lot of cigarette smoke, muted PNW hops, light cereal. Taste-Early Grey tea, fruit loops, medium sweetness, the unsweet part of honey or maple syrup, orange zest, medium bitter, orange sherbet, very reisiny, sticky hops without being too sticky (if that makes any sense), odd aftertaste like cigarette smoke, Overall very good and well done but there is something there related to cigarette smoke that is very distracting and takes alot away. I wish I knew what was causing that. Thick mouthfeel. LeopoldStoch (201), Green, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2007 Bottle shared with Black95tt...this is was a damn solid double ipa. Very earthy and grassy hops on the aroma with a nice addition of english caramel toffee malts. Poured a pretty dark golden yellow color. The taste had a lot of the same earthy grassy hop undertones melded with a nice appearance from the heavy malt backbone. The alcohol was not very noticeable, and it finished very very bitter. Overall a pretty good brew.
