| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 5, 2007 Pours a very nice copper color with a thick head. Big cascade style hops, giving off citrus and woodsy aroma. Taste is a nice balance of malt and hops that has a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. This is very well balanced and delicious beer if you like over the top beers. Tmoney99 (4731), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2007 Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured a clear copper color with a large frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Heavy complex citrus and earthy hoppy aroma with a sweet alcohol tone. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. This is a standout beer. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Great looking dark amber color with a nice looking thick persistent off-white head. Aroma is a resinous piney aroma with good malt behind it and a detectable dose of alcohol. Smooth, despite the alcohol presence. Good hop character, more balanced with the malt than American DIPAs. The hops are nice and floral and meld well with the malts. Nice and balanced. Edmoe (127), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Dark amber color. Great floral/ hoppy aroma w/ hints of pineapple and apricot. Medium mouth-feel with good balance of bitterness and sweetness. Apricot sweetness mingled with molasses comes through bitterness. Bitterness lingers pleasantly. Really enjoyable beer! | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2007 600ml bottle. Aroma: Rich apricot and tropical fruits, resin, floral hops. Grainy malts and a strong caramel note. Appearance: Reddish-amber in color and clear. Off-white head was small and foamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Semi-sweet grainy maltiness with notes of caramel and honey. Hops kick in nicely with a solid pine and resin, apricot and mango, hay and grass. Sweetness and bitterness mingle briefly before the bitterness wins out. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Not as good as the best west coast IIPAs, but a solid effort. xmarcnolanx (792), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2007 A kind of barley wine aroma to it. Very nice aroma of dank hops, harsh citrus, and caramel malts.
Taste is harsh citrus in the rear, but initially creamy and dank onion.
Finish is lingering and bitter.
Complex and solid.
Citrus, creamy... yummy. TheEpeeist (1450), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 1, 2007 20.3 oz bottle. Clear golden amber with an off-white, pudding skin head. Active carb feeds the froth. Lacy sheets coat the entire glass. Pineapple, mango, maraschinos and caramel. Green hay under the fruity nose. Creamy mouth, lush but airy. Density reminds me of a Quad. Begins wih a spritz of piney carb. Bitter briefly then giving way to the dominant malt bill. Candi, melon, toffee, caramel, some orange peel. Tasty but lacking some complexity. Still, well crafted and very good. JCB (1754), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Bottle from tytoanderso - thanks, Tyler!! This is a very lovely DIPA, a huge and richly floral affair that can compete with SoCal’s best in my opinion. A ruby pour with a lush head (full and lasting retention). Strikes a really fine balance between bright hops (not bitter or citrusy, a nice change) and full, lasting malt finish. Alcohol well hidden, extremely full mouthfeel. A very strong brew all around.
