Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

Bottle. A dark amber color or more like red with a beige head. A sweet aroma filled with a hoppy spicyness almost has the aroma of a barley wine. A mouth melting flavor which tells of a balanced beer as it is an Imperial IPA, the hops give a nice bitterness to the smooth malt flavor. It’s also remarkable that the alcohol doesn’t taste at all even though it’s a strong beer, or it only comes out in the warming sensation you get. A malty finish and a bitter palate. It made me love even more the Imperial IPA style!

Pours deep amber with a tall beige head. Sweet caramel nose with a balanced hop element. Somewhere inbetween a barleywine and double ipa this found itself. Much more balanced then the iipas of the US, toasty and warming malts, caramel and dry fig, against a spicy hop finish, but not as bitter as the iipa might suggest. Very chewy texture. The mellowness of this and the way the hops and malts play give the impression this beer as aged a bit, although it just arrived her last week, so i’m not sure on that. I really enjoyed this beer, although not what I was expecting flavor-wise.

Bottle. Poured a deep red body with nice head. Aroma is caramel, stale hops. Flavor is the same with a toasty character and some spicy notes. The hops seem to be fighting their way to make it in the flavor. This was just released to the U.S. but it smells and tastes like it’s been aged for a year or two.

600ml Bottle: Aroma of hops, biscuit, cream, and lychee. Poured dark amber in color with a medium-sized, foamy, creamy, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Medium bitter flavor. Tastes of hops, lychee, caramel malts, and resin. Medium body. Tingly texture. Average carbonation. Malt hop finish.

Most excellent hop nose - mostly citrus but a little pine. Some malt sweetness in there. Crisp amber body. Lots of hops in the body with a little sweetness that’s just shy of cloying.

Pour a translucent orange amber with a medium creamy/foamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of pine, caramel, lots of floral notes, orange, candy sweetness, toffee and tropical fruits. Flavor of chewy hops, earthy, pine resin, grapefruit, caramel malt, toasted notes, orange and other various citrus notes.

I picked this one up at West Lakeview Liquors in the Chicago area and was very excited (and surprised) to find it. It poured with a nice, clear, deep amber color and a very light ring of a head. I expected it to smell of hops, but they were utterly lacking. Instead, the aroma was of light caramel and nutty maltiness. The flavor turned out to be pretty much the same. There was basically no hop flavor, but there was a decent, very mild, English-style IPA character. Bitterness was lower than expected. This tasted like a very dull, strong-ish, English IPA...possibly even one that has been heavily filtered and/or pasteurized. It tasted absolutely nothing like an American DIPA or like what reviewers of the tap version in Denmark have reported. Where are the hops? The commercial description included here on the RB website sounds quite good, but the beer I got doesn’t match it whatsoever. At around $15 for less than 22oz, this "extreme" beer was EXTREMELY disappointing.

(bottle) Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is odd to say the least with some citrus that’s very slight, and another unusual aroma that smells like rubber. Flavor was just unusual with a little malt and a hops finish, but some other weird aspect was present that I can’t even describe. Not very good, and grossly overpriced.
