Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

Hand bottled Dec 19th 2006 (thanks Papsoe!). Amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is big time flowery hops with some salted licorace, caramel . freshly cut wood and spices. Flavour is wooden (coniferous woods), grassy, fruity hoppy and some salted licorace lurking in the background. Extremely wellbalanced brew, and one of the best IIPAs I have had. Doesn’t show almost any alcohol at all.

Dark coppery colored, medium sized yellow head. Extremely rich aroma with lots of nyances: flowery hops of course dominating, some licorice, caramel and mild alcohol present, rich one indeed. Hints of alcohol in aroma, still finely covered. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is similar to aroma with these dominating flowers and hops, also licorice and caramel here. Aftertaste has some alcohol. Not very fastly drinkable, though very enjoyable brew.

(Bottled, 0.6l, 9.5 ABV) Clear, deep, darkish red-amber color with a medium, foamy and firm head. Very strong, pine-hoppy and grape-citrus-fruity aroma with clove and cinnamon hints. Very strongly pine-hoppy, but also surprisingly malty and especially fruity flavor with a very long, dry and bitter finish. Some sweet and malty toffee, too, in the beginning - but no signs of alcohol. Medium to full-bodied, medium-carbonated, extremely balanced palate considering the high dose of hops, malt and alcohol. A truly beautiful, spicy Imperial IPA with great balance and loads of non-offensive, but crisp and wonderfully aromatic hops.

On draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Ahhh yesss, one of the few huge IPA’s I found on my trip in Europe that resembled the West Coast big boys. The guys in the pub were laughing at how hopped up it was - I just said "delicious". Has that malty and chewy thing goin on - but has a crisp/clean finish to it at the same time. How can you go wrong with that? Simply delicious.

Bottle. Pours a clear, copper color. The head is small and beige. Heavy, malty aromas with beef-stock and sugar, well balanced with lots of hoppy aromas makes this a really enjoyable beer. Pine, orange, notes of tropical fruits, and there’s something earthy there as well. Flavorwise it goes the same path, with a nice blend of heavy maltyness and intense hoppyness. Really long, hoppy finish with a quite sugary feeling. This full-bodied beer is not the kind you down by numbers, I guess the cigar lover would enjoy this one, and it’s wonderful on it’s own as well. I can’t decide if I think it’s too sweet, but I think I’m content. At least it’s rather balanced. Rating: 8-3-8-4-17-4 )

Draught, Randallized version at Københavnske Øldage. Had some roasted Brie to go with it. A clear, copper beer with a small beige head. Hops, pine, beef-stock, malt, sugar-notes and citrus in the aroma and flavor, but more evident sweetness in the flavor. Full body. Long, hoppy finish with pinecones and resin. A lovely beer. I had it un-Randallized as well, but I liked the Randallized version better, it is more balanced and silkier in the mouth. )
