Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

Beer no.6 from Papsoe, shared with ozujsko
I always wanted to try this one. It poured a beautiful red colour with a medium sized white head that went away slowly. Strong agrumey (lime mostly I guess) nose. Gorgeous lemon-lime hopiness, strong, but not over the top hoppy bitterness. Man, I want to try it fresh even more now. Hah. I’ve tried an IIPA before trying a single IPA. Imagine that. A huge thanks to Henrik for including this in the package.

Bottle courtesy of moejuck and spector, thatnks a bunch you lovable bastards you! Orange-red pour with no head. Aroma of floral hops, sweet bready malt, some light citrus as well. Light bitter hops in the flavor...bready malt comes through and some pine. Medium bodied, with a bitter finish.

On tap, on location at the Bryghus in Copenhagen. Deep mahogany amber-gold and very clear with a fine off-white head. Aroma is alcoholic with high malt sweetness leading into pine, earth, and resinous orange--all expressed with muted intensity. Pronounced dry, heavy bitterness with a dark, earthy malt profile that is heavy but without sweetness or syrupy characteristics. Hop flavor is relatively low. This leads to a somewhat heavy body with a big mouth feel. Alcohol is definitely present but well-integrated and leaves a fairly dry warming finish.

NorCal tasting Apr 07 - Another huge thank you to Papsoe and Aspidities for getting this beer to us. Pours out a brownish/clear amber color with a nice one-finger white head. Aroma that really stood out was the grassy hops. Reminded me of cutting my lawn. It also had this candied hop nose which I really liked also, sweet and nicely balanced. Mouthfeel is soft yet intense somehow with a sticky resinous I enjoyed. Flavor was also really grassy, nicely balance (there’s that B word again) with the hop attack and the mal support. A really nice DIPA.

Bottle from Kristian (Mikkeller), delivered in person. Unfortunately, two thirds of the bottle fizzed out on the journey to the US, and onto his clothes. So wasted no time opening what was left of this bottle. I opened the bottle, and I hear a very faint "fssssst." So it did not lose ALL of the CO2. From the pouring it, I coudl tell that this had lost some carbonation, but I am not going to penalize the beer. Pours a very dark amber-copper. Nice aroma of citrus, pine, english malt, and alcohol. Texture is slick, slightly syrupy and resiny. Nice flavors follow the aroma , flavors of caramel and big juicy and piney hops. Very enjoyable bitterness on the finish, with alcohol that you can sense, but not taste. I really enjoyed the how the hop and malt profile work together on this. This is a very malty IIPA with an addicting hop bitterness. If I could get a fresh draft of this, I would suspect that this would give my favorite american double IPAs some serious competition in a lineup.

Bottle from moejuck and spector, thanks a bunch. Poured a medium brown with reddish hues. Aroma was some citrusy and also some candy notes. Flavor was a little bitter and had a nice hoppiness on the tongue. Pretty solid beer but this would probably be a lot better fresh.

Another lucky benifactor of moejuck, very interesting subtle but very distinct complex hop and malt aroma, almost perfumey, like your in a grain room filled with pine and citrus hop,a little of the caramelly backing sweetness comes through also, taste is pretty much the same, what is so interesting here is though this is no more then a medium bodied brew, how many different levels of hop taste there are, more amazing when you remember the long trip this has been on

12oz handbottle (bottled from a growler about 1 month ago), big thanks to moejuck for this! pours a beautiful ruby with small off-white head, i know the color isn’t exactly to style but i love my iipa’s a bit darker anyways. nose is hoppy but nothing crazy, it has nice fruitpunch and grassy notes and caramel notes coming through in the nose as well. flavor has something off about it, sorta earthy and medicinal, grassy hops, caramel round out the flavor. the body is slick and syrupy. alcohol is well hidden. this is tasty but i can’t see why this is in the top 50. thanks again joe!.3.5..................................... 4.3oz. pours copper-ruby with big off white head. nose is big cookie malts with juicy flabby hop aroma. flavor is huge brown sugar and caramelized cookie malt, along with some juicy hop presence. much more malty than hoppy. finish is almost syrupy. body is fluffy, sometimes watery, and carbonation is smooth. alcohol is well hidden.i bet this would be awesome aged 4+ years but fresh, it’s just not that hoppy when compared to many other double ipa. so after my first rating the brewer went after my rating because i rated it from a hand bottle. although he wouldn’t send me a fresh bottle/growler. so i see this is just bottled and i spend the $15 on it and what do you know, pretty much the same rating. your beer isn’t that good, sorry Nørrebro...3.7
