Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

Bottled. Poured a dark golden brown, which i did not expect at all. The head started big, but through out the beer was about a 1/4 inch thick and laced the glass to a white cake. The aroma was of much darker malt and was more like a bourbon or brandy barrel aged beer than IIPA. Nose had definate alcohol overlay along with candied fruit. Taste had a good hop presence but was still more like a barleywine or old ale. Great beer just different for the style.

This copper ale poured with a massive and lasting beige head. There is a floral grassy aroma. The flavor starts with a syrupy sweet malt taste, transitioning smoothly to a fairly bitter hop finish. It’s very well-balanced and tasty.

Bottle via trade a while back, been sitting in the fridge for a while. Pours a murky rusty brown color with a small off white head that left little lacing. Nose was very sweet, this must have been sitting around for a while cause there is very little hop presence in the nose. Flavor is also very sweet and fruity. Good thing I happen to like aged (old) IPA’s.

Bottle via trade. Thanks Jimbo! Pours a darker than expected brown colour with a soapy, khaki head and buckets of lacing. Aroma is acutally more caramel malt than hops but that’s fine with me. Rather syrupy mouthfeel that starts sweet and finishes with some more caramel but also bitter hops. Rather unique in the DIPA world.

Bottle at Kirsten. Dark amber with a strange yellowish head, fine lacings. Aroma moderate to heavy malty (caramel) and hoppy (grass). Flavor moderate to heavy sweet and bitter, in a fine balance. Almost full body.

1 PT 4.3 FL OZ bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep reddish copper with a fair, tight, reddish-tan foam. Aroma: Lots of really big pine, resin and peppery hops, thick gooey malts behind that, lots of dark dried fruits stewed in rum, really sweet behind the hops, lots of brown sugar and molasses. Palate: Medium body and fairly soft carbonation. Flav.: Big toasted brad crust, a bit of cardboard, still a fair hit of malt, but it is less sweet and playful, more austere and British, the hops is quite peppery, less pine/resin, a bit of the stewed dark fruits, a bit nutty; slightly off-dry with a big hop kick and light woody malts left over.

Beautiful bottle, very nice beer.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with large dirty white color head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of bitter hops with notes of caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by some bitter hops with some citrus notes but lacking some grapefruit which I hold very dear to the style. Malt body is quite substantial with some great dry caramel malt notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well done but definitely not as good as the hype surrounding this one.
