Feb 15, 2009 Bottle. Aroma is sweet and fruity, some floral, plus lots of alcohol. Cloudy dark orange amber body, off-white head. Flavor is much sweeter than expected, fruit, some caramel, alcohol. Bitterness in the finish, but not with the bite you’d anticipate.

Feb 13, 2009 I would not call this an imperial/double IPA, it is more like a barley wine. It has a nice brown color, with a nice fluffy head. This is definitely a good looking beer. Very malty. More malty than hoppy if you ask me. Smells alcoholic, and yeasty. The bittering hop is nice, but this beer just doesn’t strike me as a imperial/double. I think this is a good beer, just classified the wrong way.

Jan 10, 2009 660 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a medium frothy yellowish beige head that is mostly lasting. The aroma has a combination of big orange citrus hops and moderately sweet caramel maltiness. I get more subtle notes of floral and herbal hops as well. The flavor has a real nice balance to it. There are equal parts of sweet caramel/toffee malt and orange citrus, floral, and pine hops. The bitterness is not over the top, but does become more prominent in the finish. The 9.6% was completely hidden. I could drink this all day if it weren’t $14. Medium/full bodied and smooth drinking.

Jan 9, 2009 bottle 660ml 9,78€ from Alko EXP 16.12.08 copper color white low head Taste.first sweet malts then bitter and grapefruity hops kicks. Warming alcohol comes through all sticky piney hops.

Jan 7, 2009 Dark cloudy orange with medium white head. Slight malt aroma. Ever changing hop and malt throughout, well balanced a complex. Very nice one.

Jan 6, 2009 Bottle@Home. Not a very strong aroma, fruity, light grassy. Hazy, brown color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, very very bitter, strong laurel, grassy, nasty bitter in the finish, medium body. Flavorful but not completely in balance.

Jan 3, 2009 700ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. NNBE pours muddy water brown with a large beautiful head made up of large rocky bubbles. Kudos to the brewers on a fine looking ale. The aroma is simple but quite enjoyable with nothing but fresh hops being promised. This is a really good beer. The alcohol is high, warranting an impy IPA characterization I suppose but the hop billet is not really impy style, more like regular IPA style. That is fine with me. The body is slightly oily without being cloying. The finish is dry. Overall, this is a very nice drinkable beer but probably not an IIPA.

Jan 2, 2009 I agree with the comments that this doesn’t taste like a double IPA. Light brown in color with a clear, small head. Sweet, malty taste. A very smooth tasting beer.
