Commercial Description:
North Bridge Extreme is the brewers gift to Anders on the 1 year aniversary for the opening of Nørrebro Bryghus. It is inspired from the South-West Californian triple IPA's. It is brewed on English ale-malt, adjusted with different colormalt and spiced with enourmous amounts of hops. A dark golden extremely bitter ale with a distinct hop aroma.

More barley wine than IIPA but a decent beer nonetheless. Aroma was great. Strong roasted malt and caramel that fills the head. Pour was a deep murky dark amber/brown with no head. Taste was very sweet and malty. Strong burnt caramel and bitter malt in the front with a strong and sticky alcohol burn in the aftertaste. No hops to speak of. Very little carbonation. I was expecting a lot more.

20.3 oz super expensive bottle from Canal’s Burlington. Well since this sucker cost me $15.99 before an additional $1.42 of NJ sales tax. Pours a murky brown with a huge frothy whiteish head that leaves some serious lace and a nice slick of head that lasts the remainder of the beer. Aroma has a large malt backbone, caramel..molasses..toffee, with some alcohol floating over hops, a nice combo of pine and citrus, and some fruit notes, apricot..peach..pinapple, finishing out the aroma. Palate is spot on, medium bodied..light/medium carbonation..medium/strong bitter finish and a creamy mouthfeel. Flavor needs more hops to step up, especially for the cost, but what hops are there are balanced nicely with the malts. Flavor of caramel, citrusy orange, toffee, molasses, wood, sawdust. Now don’t get me wrong this is one good beer. However stating that there is no way on God’s green Earth that this is worth $17+ a bottle.

Bottle: The aroma is sweet citrus with apricots, caramel, light alcohol, and woody. It pours a transparent amber with a moderate off-white head with decent retention and nice rings of lacing. The flavor is rather sweet. Lot of sweet citrus up front with moderate caramel. The finish consists of sugary apricot, peach, and pineapple with a light spiciness, faint grapefruit, and alcohol. A little too sweet for my IIPA preferences. With as sweet as it is, I can only assume that import time has taken away some of the hop bite and balance. Full bodied with a somewhat syrupy texture and soft carbonation.

Pours with a three finger, thick light tan head that fades slowly and leaving a good lace. Deep clear amber color. Good carbonation, medium bodied. Malty alcohol nose. Flavor is sweet, some alcohol, caramel, smooth finish. Not too different from DFHs 120 Minute IPA. Wicked expensive at $17.50 for a 600ml bottle from Tully’s Beer and Wine Wells, Me.

On tap @ EBF. Dark reddish golden with a big, dense off-white head. Aroma is citrus hoppy. Flavor is sweet malt, sharp bitter, a bit fruity, spicy and actually a bit too sweet for my taste. Finnish is long and bitter.

Lots of malt. Sweet. Intense. Damn good. Almost a barley wine it is so intense. ABV is not hidden, but who the hell cares? Very good.

EBF2008. Amber colour and clear. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is mainly hoppy, some fruit too. Flavor is heavy bitter all over. Alcohol. Dry texture.
