On tap. Pours black and opaque with a small beige head. Sweetish hard roast aroma, perhaps a whiff of licorice too. Rich body, perhaps a little low in carbonation, subtle roast, again licorice notes and dark overripe fruit. Towards the finish the malt comes through leaving a malt bitter finish. 211112

Tap @ the brewpub. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich licorice, roast malt, coffee, chocolate notes and hops.

Pours opaque black with a small, staying, creamy, beige film head. Aroma has lots of liqourice, "Kongen af Danmark", mild roasted malts. Medium carbonation, light and somewhat dry mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of roasted malts, still some "Kongen af Danmark", light minty, dark chocolate, soft malty. Quite bitter finish with light warming alcohol. A bit weird.

Overall: Far too much anise and salmik for my taste. Owz a good brew.

Draft. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of liqurice and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of liqurice, combined with medium notes of roasted malt, and bread, leading to a dry roasted finish. Too much liqurice for my liking.

Sweet and roasted flavour of caramel and licorice with notes of coffee.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours pitch black with a small tab head. Aroma is liqouriec and dark malty. Det, dark roasted, liqourice and light herbal. Bitter, dry, annis seed and bitter. Lingering dry and bitter into the finish.
