4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
CBF09. From tap. Pours pitch black and with a small chocolate brown head. Smooth roasted malt, chocolate port wineous notes. Wood too. Smooth port barrel flavoured with a nice roasted malt base. Subdued chocolate notes. Light sweetness. Full bodied. Very intense. Acidic and roasted flavoured finish, light tarish. Lovely, yet a prefer the base version above this - sometimes the barrel ageing levels out the subtle complexities of a really well crafted beer.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Tap @ Ølfestival, Valby, 2009.
Pours utterly opaque black. Impossible to see through. A great, creamy beige, staying head on top. Aroma is sweet, lots of wood, toffee, port, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate and light liqourice. Super creamy mouthfeel, soooo velvety. Sweetish flavour with lots of roasted malts, port character, chocolate, oak and some super-elegant blueberry notes in the background. This is so elegantly balanced. Lots of power, but still the 12 % is so well hidden. Easily the best beer of the festival! Make more, Nørrebro!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Apperance: Pitch black with a small and robust beige head.
Aroma: Dried fruits, Herbs, Port, Chocolate and roasted malts.
Flavor: Chocolate, Roasted malts, Ports, Vanilla and hops.
Palate: Quite dry and complex with a huge bitterness at the end.
This was a favourite at CBF 09 that i think still needs some more time maturing. According to the brewer it had been 7 months in a barrel when it was served.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
