COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

(Draught) Pours black. The aroma holds boatloads of tar-ish and coffee-like malt. Roasted and burned with green hops in the background. Quite dry on the nose. The flavour is light to medium sweet, medium bitter and light acidic with notes of asphalt, dry bitter cocoa, coffee and citric hops. Resinous and roasted aftertaste. The mouthfeel is quite fat, round and light oily with a light carbonation. Lingering bitterness. Medium to full bodied.

Sampler at CBF 2011-06-28. Pitch black with a creamy, brown film. Dark dried fruits, roasted, coffee nose. Liquorice, dark fruits, roasted tones on sweet, bitter and light acidic flavors. Full body. Oily, smooth and warming with roasted notes lingering in the end.

larsga (4617) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 18, 2011
Head is just a thin brown ring. Opaque black body. Deep velvety chocolatey malty aroma with earthy sugary cocoa notes. Dry-sweet resiny burnt chocolate taste with earthy caramelly notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, somewhat hot mouthfeel. Dry burnt coffee aftertaste with black chocolate and pepper notes. Nice, but the aroma is far more harmonic than the taste. (0.1l draft at DBF’11.)
