COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Head is just a thin brown ring. Opaque black body. Deep velvety chocolatey malty aroma with earthy sugary cocoa notes. Dry-sweet resiny burnt chocolate taste with earthy caramelly notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, somewhat hot mouthfeel. Dry burnt coffee aftertaste with black chocolate and pepper notes. Nice, but the aroma is far more harmonic than the taste. (0.1l draft at DBF’11.)

27-MAY-2011, draft @Copenhagen BeerFestival. Rating #1000. Black with brown head. Very roasted and very sweet. Nose perhaps a tad subdued, but taste is full throttle. But what is really most amazing is the smoothness and fullness. So creamy and with quite low carbonation. Roasted coffee, chocolate, some hoppy bitterness. But mostly it all just coexists and gives one of the best brews I have had. Worth a #1000 rating:)

Rating #578, sample @ CBF ’11

Completely opaque black-brown with a very nice head and lacings. Very heavy aroma of smoke, chocolate and liquorice. Flavor is heavy with tar, liquorice, smoke and chocolate. Close to the ultimative stout taste. Thick, soft, round.

Copenhagen Beer Festival. Opaque black beer, soft to dry palate. Rich well roasted malt. Sherry and coffee flavours. Perhaps just a tad roasty for me.

Draught @ Ølfestival København 2011.
Pours a pitch black colour with a beautiful dark brown head. Aroma of roasted malts with dark coffee and some fruits as well. Flavour of smooth roasted malts, dark coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, caramel and mild vanilla notes. Full bodied with an excellent smooth mouthfeel. Awesome, just awesome. Definitely a top-10 brew for me.
