Coffee aroma, not too strong. Smooth, salt liquorice. A bit vinous, but very drinkable. Sourish finish. Outstanding.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap @ Ølfestival, Valby, 2009.
Pours completely black. A great set of creamy, beige head leaves great lacings. Aroma has leather, chocolate, roasted malts, some black currants, vinious and just a hint of coffee. Super creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Flavour is really fantastic. Vinious, dry, chocolate, grainy cocoa, ginger, Kenya coffee, hops and a long, lingering bitter roasted finish. Truly magnificent.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 On tap at Nørrebro Bryghus in January. Delicious and powerful stout with a widely ranging palate including coffee, chocolate and liquourice and many other flavors as well. Sticky yet perfectly balanced with delicately hopped ending. Very very nice beer with even more flavors to be discovered.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Entered to celebrate my rating number 12,100. Draft. A pitch black beer with a slight brown shine along the bottom of the glass under a thin lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol, wood, sherry, roasted malt, and soy sauce, as well as lighter notes of dark bitter chocolate. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, prunes, over ripe fruits, and wood, as well as medium notes of soy sauce, brown sugar, and alcohol, that tickles the tongue and palate, and burns lightly in the top of the throat. The finish is very bitter, both from the hops and the roasted malt. Nice one.

En utrolig lækker øl, på trods af 12% alkohol er den afrundet utroligt flot. Et mesterstykke af en øl. Lækker, fed, cremet. En øl jeg gerne ville drikke lidt oftere.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught. Large creamy brown head that really lasted. Pitch black color. Good display of lacework. Roasted malt, liquorish, mild fruit, coffee, chocolate. Over the palate came strong bitter notes of burned malt, coffee, chocolate and some underlying floral notes. Full bodied with an average carbonation, thick mild alcohol texture. Heavy bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering burned malty finish.
