An authentic Porter at 6% ABV. The name refers to this being the second Nordic guest brew, that is developed together with Lasse Ericsson from Nynäshamn Ångbryggeri, south of Stockholm. The beer is top fermented and added honey before the fermentation, which results in a soft and creamy coffee black porter with a soft aroma of chocolate, coffee, and nuts. The flavor is dry, light, and elegant with notes of liquorice and dried fruits. The bitterness is low and the harmonious aftertaste is dominated by liquorice.

A hazy deep red beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of vegetables, roasted malt, caramel, violet, and hints of other spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of tar, roasted chocolate, and alcohol, as well as hints of rose hips and flowers, leading to a bitter roasted end. The mouthfeel is very creamy almost oily in texture.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2007 On tap at Cph Beerfestival. Almost black, with some reddish notes, and it seems clear. Tan head. It has a slightly roasted aroma with some fruitiness, coffee and chocolate. Coffee and chocolate in the flavor too, and it is quite sweet. A bit roasted too. Dry bittersweet finish, and full-bodied. A pleasant beer, but a bit on the sweet side. Rating: 7-5-7-4-14-3.7. (060519)

Rerate: Bottle. Dark brown pour, with a reddish hue, and a nice, but not lasting, beige head. No sediments, but clear. The aroma starts roasted and burnt, with chocolate, coffee and some dried fruits. The same things are found in the flavor, which has a sourness, some bitterness, and a touch of smoke. Cigarette smoke I think. There’s also some licorice, but mostly in the finish, where it has company by a dry, coffee-ish bitterness and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is medium to full, leaving it quite easy to drink. Still nice, but adjusted the score down by 0.1 due to the diminishing head. The sweetness from last sample were not as evident in this one. (071107)
