3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, - DEC 23, 2006On draught at the brewpub, May 2006. Very dark ruby colour, with a beige head. I was expecting a Baltic porter but, although there was a vague tar character, I was obviously wrong there. All burnt malt and sweet liquorice, with a fair amount of chocolate and coffee. Just a touch of sharpness on the finish, resulting in a distinctly bittersweet overall feel. Rather difficult to pigeonhole but I’d certainly drink this one again.

Aroma has coffee, roasted malt, some licorice and semi‐dark chocolate. Flavour is slightly sweet with licorice, semi‐dark chocolate, some caramel and sugary notes. Dryish finish with coffee. A bit too thin palate. Good!

Pour is dark brown w/ a small bubbled light brown head and some nice lacing. Aroma of big roasty malt, pretty sweet, a hint of licorice and tobacco. Full rich well coated palate. Flavor of well roasted malts, leaves a touch of a smoky tobacco remnant in my mouth. Grainy notes with a hint of coffee and chocolate and a touch of walnut and a subtle sweetness beyond the flavors I recognize. A very well done porter.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 elektrikjester (90) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - APR 28, 2012
Pours an opaque dark brown-black. No head, but a tan lacing stays throughout. Aroma is sweet, with milk chocolate and dried cherries dominating. Flavor is likewise sweet, with lightly roasted chocolate malts leading the way. Dark fruits, honey, and alcohol (brandy) follow behind. Mouthfeel is a tad thick, but not oily at all, with a moderate amount of carbonation. In sum: A fine porter for those who like their beers on the sweet side. Seek this one out.

Bottle purchased at "The Village Beer Merchant" in Buffalo. Pours a dark dark dark black/ brown with a small khaki head that recedes to a very small ring. A few minor flecks of lacing here and there. Aroma is instantly of like red wine, caramel malt, coffee, a little chocolate. Tastes like dark chocolate, some coffee, berries, honey and mocha. Really quite nice.

Serving: 500 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a very dark brown with a tan head. The nose has lots of coffee, raisin, a touch of date, and brown sugar. The flavor has a slight sour twinge to it, with lots of toffee, dates, some roast, and a slight earthiness. Really quite enjoyable. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a lingering malty finish. There is lots of complexity to this brew. Definitely enjoy it as it warms and transforms.

500 mL bottle shared by Velkyal. Always glad to try another Norrebro. Pours dark brown with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, honey, floral notes and nuts. The taste is bitter roasted malts, honey, earth, a slightly salty note and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Bottle. Dark hazelnut brown with small sudsy tan head. Nose of vanilla, cream, coffee, cocoa, soy. Flavor is akin to a Baileys Irish Cream milkshake I had in Italy when I was 16. Weird.
