Pours lovely deep brown with a nice, staying, creamy, beige head. Sweet toasted caramel aroma with some plums, chocolate, light raisin, walnuts. Medium, prickly carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good chocolate, some cocoa notes, plums, raisins. A hint of freshly ground coffee on top of sweet malts. Light hazelnuts. A very good stap at a dubbel.

Pours a watery coffee, somewhat flat. Tastes sweetly malts, bit chocolate, laid down fruits and with some bitterness. But this was also quite watery, which took away from the overall impression.

Bottle, 5.5% at KØ14. Belgian yeast aroma, a little aniseed and brown sugar. Cloudy brown colour. No head. The flavour is sweet with a good Belgian yeast note, not fat, more like wheaty. Chewy mouthfeel. Brown ale maltiness, but better.

0.4l bottle. Looks quite good in the glass with a nice big dark brown head that’s leaving some good lacings on top of a really deep dark brown, almost black colored body. On the nose I get a good amount of coffee grit and yeasty notes. Almost nutty yeasty and it also has some good roasted tones all the way. Not much sweetness (as promised on the bottle, at least not on the aroma). It’s also quite low on the sweetness in the taste. Again it feels quite coffee infused this. Dark near roasted malty flavors with both cardboard and dry chocolate. A bit thin and weak on the mouthfeel while the carbonation is gentle a somewhat soft. Not what I was expecting or hoping for to be honest, but it’s definitely not bad tasting in any way. 27.11.2013

400 ml bottle. Unclear dark brown body with a small, dense beige head. Aroma has chocolate, coffee and some wood. Flavor is sweet chocolate, malt and hint of dry fruit. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Actually quite mild in flavor all the way.

Bottle. A lightly unclear one, brown in color and with a small, dark beige head. The aroma has dark roasted malts, and not much else. Some dried fruit notes in the far back though. It’s lightly sweet on the palate, with roasted, almost burnt malts and a little touch of prunes. Dry, medium body with a nice carbonation level. Roasted and lightly bitter finish. Sure a drinkable one, maybe in need of some food to shine. 140110

From cask. Liqurice and some dark fruits at work. But this really needs more body. Would be better at 8.0 or so.
