COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: Based on a very classically brewed Belgian style tripel with just the one twist that it was fermented with a saison yeast blend. After primary and secondary fermentation on tank for 3 months, the beer was racked into French Sauternes oak barrels and inoculated with brettanomyces and lactobaccillus. After 8 months in the barrel, the beer shows a very charming combination of spicy aromas, earthy notes and the complex tartness added by the wild yeast and bacteria. The body is dry with intense spicy and fruity flavours with clear hints of vanilla and oak.
Ingredients: Barley malt, wheat malt and hops.

Bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. One of these little cutes bottles which Nørrebros special releases comes in this year. Limites release nr. 9. The por is a hazy light brownish almost dark orange with a tiny white edgy head. The nose is not at all to compare with a tripel I ever had. I think its more like an agressive non-belgian sour ale. The sweet sourness is upfront with a lot of wet oak to back it. Some strings of vanilla, lemongrass and a fruity impression as of grapes and pineapple. The taste is very nice its huge in a low key way. Its sour but with a sweet base to back it up. Its complex without beeing confusing. The palate has a gentle and mild oilyness that makes it rather smooth. A little harchness at first that flattens out to a sweet finish with trases of alcohol. Really impressed with NBs releases series this year. Yummy.

Backlog. Tried at the Copenhagen Beer Festival. Just as good as it’s little brother but with the added sweetness of a Sauternes.

Bottle at norrebro. the beer is very very unique. It has a the back bone of a triple, but imagine a triple with a finish with brett in the back end, it was a very nice brew. Really glad I tried. I would imagine that this beer with taste strong of brett with more age. There was enough in there that it could really take over

Clear golden orange pour with no head and mild carbonation. The nose is very sweet with a lot of wine and oak aromas. A hint of grape and lemon tartness, maybe a bit of grass. Some light tropical fruit notes, too. Sweet sauterne wine and vanilla flavors up front with a mild tartness. Sugar and bready malt, a bit of oak, and some faint grass notes.

33 cl. bottle, bottled in January 2010, poured in to a Trappist glass. Lovely deep orange with golden hues, only a vague, white bubbly head that quickly fades away. Fruity and yeasty aroma with vanilla, oak, lots of oak actually, bretts, rather vinous, lactic and spicy notes. Very complex. Initial sweet taste as Tripels usually have, due to the barrel aging and the complex bacteria composition the taste turns lightly sour. Medium body, slick texture and a flat carbonation. Long lasting, drying finish with lots of barrel, vanilla, yeasts and vinous notes. A demanding and extremely complex beer. Not by any means easy drinkable but rewarding for the patient connaisseur.
