A Sim rate (bottle at ChrisO’s Raise the Roof tasting): Sweet fizzy malt with a bit of Belgian-style yeast. Great yellow fizzy appearance with a great lasting head and lace. Tastes like sherbert sweets with some tangerine in the finish. It’s got that Belgian yeastiness again in the flavour. Fizzy palate that really tingles.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ClubGonzo (2695) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 29, 2010
Pours a good-looking light golden body with tiny floaties and a small white top. Aroma is original, complex and very nice: coriander, horseradish, celery, citric peels and some herbal yeasty notes. Taste is classic tripel with an original angle: molasses, dry floral hops, peppery tones and a smooth bland of coriander and citrus fruitiness. Full-bodied mouthfeel, yet refreshing and perfectly balanced between bitter and sweet. VårTripel ("spring tripel") from Nørrebro is definitely a fine-tuned brew; this is the best of the genre I’ve had in a very long time. Perhaps ever. :-)
