English: a sour Belgian style brown ale. The base beer was a Belgian Brune, brewed in September 2008 by the Master Brewer Class of 2008/09 at the Scandinavian School of Brewing. The finished beer was then allowed to age for 10 months in a Spanish Tempranillo barrel with multiple strains of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus, resulting in a pleasantly sour, extremely complex, smooth beer with significant oaky, winey and barnyard flavours. Malt and caramel notes on the palate and a clean, crisp and fruity finish.

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2010, TAP1. Pours a muddy brown beer with a weak offwhite head. The aroma is acidity, tart and fruit. The flavor follows the nose closely. The palate is sweetness with some fruit. Overall a good and complex beer.

375 ml bottle; thanks Tom!! After 6 straight imperial stouts, this was quite the change; muddy orange with foamy white head; apricots, oak, vanilla, oranges and small level of acidity; light texture and a little vinegary to me; apricots, light orange and white sugar; pretty yummy

UPDATED: APR 13, 2010 Bottle kindly shared by plovmand in the secret layer. Thanks a lot! :-) Pours clear brown with a tan head. Aroma is mild balsamic with notes of raisins, prunes oak and nuts. Flavour is a little tart, with raisins, plumes, oak and nuts, leaving a great after taste. A little thin bodied but nice.
