RollinHard (507), Fort Worth, Texas, USA May 13, 2007 2nd barrel version. Pours a dirty tan-orange with a smooth off-white head. Aroma is definitely sour, but there’s a bit of cherry, wood, and horseradish. Pretty sweet flavor of cherry and caramel followed by some wood and sour hits of cherries and a light vinegar punch. Finished both dry and yet tastes sweet still. In retrospect, this was as good, if not better than something like Duchesse, but then again this style is not my forte. Pretty nice. Walt (2257), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 27, 2007 Wow...the best by far!!!! Pour is ruby read with light lacy looking small bubbles of carbonation floating slowly to the top...a small ring of a dense bubbled off white head clings to the side of the glass...the smell is funky and dotted with toasty malt sourdough flavors....some nice cobweb and blue cheese come out even more as it warms...the flavor is much much much drier than the first two...none of the residual sweetness that lies underneath the first two...light straw flavored sweetness comes out at first, but then a dry sour slowly emerges as it reaches the back of your tongue...finishes is delicate and sour and not nearly as aggressive as the other two...this beer is a world class beer. Wonderful!
